Society for Range Management
The amount of the scholarship varies each year, and depends on the funds invested in the scholarship program. Last year, the SRM awarded $5,000. The award is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters if the student maintains a 2.5 grade point average (freshman year only) and a 3.0 grade point average in subsequent semesters (grade point average is per semester, not cumulative). The student must provide a copy of his/her college transcript annually to the SRM office to verify his/her continued eligibility. Failure to do so could result in termination of the scholarship.
One award offered annually.
Applicants must be sponsored by a member of the Society for Range Management (SRM), the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), or the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS). The SRM Student Affairs Committee will select the recipient(s) and announce their selection at the SRM annual meeting held in February each year. Membership in the SRM is open to anyone engaged in or interested in any aspect of the study, management, or use of rangelands. Applicants should visit the SRM website to determine their membership type. Please note: The applicant must major in range science and/or a closely related field. However, according to SRM a 'closely related field' is not specifically defined, but is determined based on how the applicant answers section D of the application.
Applications are available on the Society for Range Management (SRM) website or by contacting the SRM office using the information provided. Please note: Applications will be accepted beginning on Nov ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
