Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend Sterling College.
  3. Must demonstrate academic achievement.
  4. Must plan to enroll as a new or transfer undergraduate student in the fall of the year in which scholarship application is made. Any student who has not previously attended Sterling College is eligible to apply.
  5. Must plan to attend a college or university in Vermont.
  6. Must demonstrate a commitment to environmental causes.

Description: U.S. and international students who will be attending Sterling College in Vermont for the first time in the fall are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate academic merit and a commitment to the environment in order to be eligible for this award.

Application requirements for the Sterling College President’s Award are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • FAFSA by 03/15/2018
  • Admissions application to SC
  • Resume
  • Interview (strongly recommended)
Additional Information: It is strongly recommended that applicants for this scholarship schedule an interview with the admissions staff. Sterling College Presidential Awards are awarded based on academic performance.

Award Amount: $2,500 per semester, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must apply for admission to Sterling College (SC). The admissions application is available by clicking on the 'Admissions' link on the SC website. The student must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for this scholarship. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. It is preferred that the FAFSA be submitted by March 15. The student must then submit the Financial Aid and Scholarship Application, which is available online on the SC website.
