As a whole I believe Bethel University is a great school. This year I am a freshman living on campus and though I know it is different from past years in a variety of ways I don't know the difference. Yes there may be a few new rules such as masks and keeping a 6ft distance from others but, this is the new normal and I think Bethel is keeping us safe. I think the COVID-19 response and the maintenance is amazing. They have countless hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipe stations in the main buildings is great. Knowing that they are doing the best they can with the hand that the world has been dealt is amazing. They also have a variety of on campus jobs you can apply for as well.
I am content with my college choice. The teachers, faculty and other students genuinely care about you as a person and a student and are responsive to your needs. It is comforting to have fellow Christians around. There are plenty of options of where to get meals: an on-campus coffee shop, a grill, and a dining center. The coffee shop and the grill have enough options that are fairly high quality. The dining center has great food and many options but consistently repeat meals. As for the dorms, the freshmen are limited to the stereotypical college dorm while the other students get to choose from dorms that are apartment style. My only criticisms of Bethel University is that there are not enough on campus clubs and activities and the freshmen are forced to have an unreasonable amount of meals that are impossible to finish. The leftover meal points is money that the students give to the school that is not given back to the student at the end of the year which is a waste of money.
When I first decided I was going to attend Bethel University, I had no idea what I was getting into. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I've met so many new people, and I've made some friendships that I know will last a lifetime. There are so many things you can do at Bethel! There are lot's of clubs to join, and intramural sports are really popular. Bethel is always hosting fun activities on the weekends, to give you a way to meet new people, and have fun while doing it. The food on campus is really great. Whenever I have friends from other colleges come to visit me, they always comment on how great the food is! Bethel also just built a brand new wellness center, that is definitely state of the art. Overall, there is something on campus for everyone to enjoy, and you won't regret your decision on attending this university!
Bethel is incredible. I have loved my experience here. I have been deeply surprised and impressed the professors. They are deeply passionate and incredibly caring. I already have a few that I would consider good friends. Bethel also provides an extensive liberal arts education. I love it, but I have a variety of interests. I have enjoyed almost all of my general education courses, however some with more specific interests/passions view them as a waste of time/money. The faith community here is rich. I doubted its authenticity from the moment I stepped on campus, but I have been proven wrong. The majority of Bethel students are pursuing God and deepening their relationship with Him in a variety of ways. We are encouraged to grow and question together. The experience has been invaluable. I don't want to leave.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Bethel University-Saint Paul is 82%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would not change a thing. I lost sleep, and I know it was completely unhealthy, but it was during those crazy hours of the night when I had the most amazing conversations and made lasting memories. Take advantage of every opportunity to meet people. Put yourself out there, and don't be afraid to be different than you were in high school. Above all, put First things first. The rest will take care of itself.
I consider the best aspect of Bethel University to be the dedication to a Christian environment. I love the opportunities given and the chances I have to grow in my faith. From the first week on campus until now I have been surrounded with chances to grow and explore my faith.
Growing well informed world changers for the glory of God.
Students should be prepared to have an open mind to learning information that may cause them to challenge their current viewpoints. They should also know that it is ok to be challenged, and know that this school has systems, staff, and fellow students who are incredible at challenging yet balancing their views.
Not enough diversity.
This school is great for an academically minded person who is serious about their education. A person who really wants to be placed in a job they are ready for should go to Bethel for their education. Also, this school is meant for a person who likes social interaction and meeting a lot of people.
Education and Nursing programs, Biblical studies, and the Covenant of Community Life Together
White kids usually from a wealthy family.
The quality of our food service and the exceptional sense of community found in my residence hall.
The parking situation at my school is the most frustrating. There are too few parking spaces on campus for all of the commuting students. The amount of parking devoted to department guests is ridiculous. Most of the time those parking spaces are completely empty. My school automatically requires every commuting student to pay for a parking permit, charging my student account without my consent. They forget that some students don't require a parking permit, because they carpool or bike to school. My school should quit spending money on frivolous expenses and devote money to creating better parking solutions.
Bethel University places a high emphasis on spiritual growth, and I appreciated the dedication to its Christian faith. I wanted to attend a school where I was surrounded by people with similar morals to me.
Someone who doesn't want to leave college as changed person with an overall attitude of understanding the wonderful differences that God has given all of us.
My opinion of Bethel University is of the highest regard. I love the family atmosphere on campus and would recommend it for anyone. The professors are very personable and always willing to take the time outside of class to help you. Like anything in life the resources to succeed are all there one just has to be there best advocate and search those resources out. There are plenty of ways to get involved whether in athletics, clubs, jobs, or in music. The school is not perfect but it is a great school and is willing to be the best it can for each and every student.
