What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Reese

I do not participate much in extra curriculars. I would absolutely love to, but I work full time so I am unable to attend meetings.

Jeff

I am not curretly involoved in an organization at CSU, but I am intersted in the OCllege Republicans

Charlie

At CSU there are clubs for just about every interest. The student body isnt all about drinking we all get out and do lot of outdoor activites.

Tim

Athletics at CSU are great. Everyone gets involved and has a great time. There are always movies and concerts on campus that everyone is welcome to attend. Greek life is prominent on campus but not overbearing.

Kim

Students like to socialize and many are part of a group or organization. I live in the dorms and many leave their doors open to meet new people.

Kate

The dorm i was in the door were constanly left open and i loved meating new people. Greek life is not really that important and off campus i go out to eat a lot. Althletic events are popular and fun to go to.

Toby

I am part of the management club at CSU. We have a good time that we learn a lot of real life things that we will be able to use in the business field one day and it would worth anyioe to join even nionbusines and non mangaement majors.

Daniel

The dating scene is very good here. I met my closest friends through high school and college classes.

meg

just a few bike rides accompanied by brewery tours.

Alex

Popular groups or assocations are the greek club, the student council and clubs for majors. I just joined the pre-dental club and they go to local dentists offices and have dentists come speak to them. I didnt live in the dorms but when I visited friends the people in the dorms all seemed to be really close and had developed good friendships. I met my closests friends through high school or friends. My roomate and i are also very close. I like to go to parties, hang out, go to the pool. There are a lot of people in frats and sororities, but that all depends on if you like that. Last weekend I went to a house and we watched the avs game and the rockies game. THings that dont involve drinking are clubs, movies, bowling, going to dinner places, dancing at clubs, walking down old town, sporting events.

Jake

Living in the dorms i've noticed that roughly twenty percent of the doors are left open. I think athletic events are popular when the teams are winning but not at all when they're losing. If i'm awake on a tuesday at 2am i'm either watching a movie or laying in bed thinking of stuff and not able to fall asleep.

Campus Activities Council is a big student org. Also, Greek life is big and intramurals are always fun. I met my closest friends through my sorority. It's easy to get close to people when you live with them and see them 24/7. The town of Norman is pretty cheap to live in. Rent is cheap, food is cheap and drinks are cheap. On a typical night, 20 bucks would buy you 3 to 6 drinks depending on what your poison is. As for partying, people do that a few times a week, mostly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The university shut down drinking on campus a few years ago but there are still plenty of frat parties. They just aren't as big as they used to be. People also party at private houses around town, or at bars if you're old enough. (Every bar cards in Norman, so you have to be careful if you go out underage.) A typical party includes drinking, some dancing, probably drinking games and Guitar Hero or some other form of entertainment. That said, if you don't drink, don't worry. You're not alone. Students go to the movies, bowling, date parties, whatever. You won't be pressured to drink at parties if you don't want to.

Courtney

I don't know many students that don't do something involving drinking on a Saturday night but I do think that most students drink safely and use it as social networking

Vick

Intamural sports, parties, groups, anything you can think of

Paul

I dont party but it happens alot the dating scene is good lost of hotties

Ryan

There are all kinds of bars to hit in Old Town Fo Co. Anything from hippie dives to sports bars, Old Town is where it's at. In spring and summer, there are limitless activities to do in and around the mountains including biking, floating the Poudre, several golf courses and hiking.

Tyler

The sporting events are definately a plus, even thought the football and basketball teams were bad. I have participated in several intermual events which are also fun to do with you friends. My closest friends have come from the dorm life. being around the same people everyday you really get to know the people who live around you. Weekends are always fun. its a nice break from the school week. I usually like to go out and party and hang out with my friends. in the winter it is really popular to go to the mountains and ski. i got a season pass and prolly used atleast 30-40 days this season.

Brittany

The students in my hall did not leave their doors open in the beginning, which is the most crucial part. I didnt meet a lot of girls in my hall for a long while just because of that. My roommate turned out to be my closest friend, so I got lucky there.

Sean

csu club soccer. I do not leave my door open in the dorms. athlectics are not very strong at csu.

Lindsey

greek life, recreation, intramurals

Brian

Social life at CSU is what you make it. Some people I know are involved in everything they can be. You can work for the CSU government, radio station, T.V., or many other organizations. There are many intermural sports to choose from where you can make your own teams. Some people party almost every night, others choose not to.

Chad

Athletic events are pretty popular, their is a lot of fun things to do if you get your self involved. Everyone goes to the mountians riding, or walking around horse tooth. Plenty to do.

Kevin

There are a lot of good fraternities and sororities that offer good social life and fun

Gabriel

I'm not really invovled with must in the school.

Gabriel

I'm not really invovled with must in the school.

Kyle

Football games are awesome and people say they party a lot.

Jessica

The activities offered at CSU seem to be endless. There is always something going on and if you have enough free time it's very easy to find something to fill it up. The SLICE organization does an awesome job of getting students involved in organizations they are most passionate about.

Justin

Intramurals are a big part, and so are sports. Everyone goes to the football games, and there are lots of parties.

Kristen

My dorm room door is always closed and so are most of the doors in my hall. We are all friendly with each other but only a few people actually hang out together a lot. I don't think fraternities and sororities are a must but they are not looked down upon either. Most people don't really have an opinion on them.

Alex

campus is dead at night and they are not that many activities to keep students involved in anything besides getting stoned or partying

Kelsey

There are many popular groups on campus, the most popular being the sports teams. Football games are always packed and are a blast because of the atmosphere. Even if the team isnt playing well, people are there to support them and it ends up being a good time. We also have the #7 club lacrosse team in the nation and those games are always fun to go to as well.

Andrew

I like all the intermural sports and all the people involved, i work as an i.m. official and overall its been a great experience and i've met a lot of awesome people. But i wish our support for our athletics was a little more intense like some of the major college sports teams. i mean i know we suck at sports but the atmosphere just seems out of this world at other colleges sports games.

David

I have not really touched any of the organizations i would really like to but I work full time and go to school as well. i am not a big fan of frats/sororities, so there is not much to say.

Paige

great social life and choice of activities! so many opinions and things to do to meet new people.

Rachel

Love it!

Charlea

Greek life. Intramurals. Atheletics. I am involved in a sorority and intramurals. I met the majority of my friends either from the dorms or greek life.

Becca

Again, my own activities don't really include a lot of clubs but there's a lot of 'em out there for people to try. I do work at the rec center though and I've found lots of good friends there, and I see people enjoying lots of intramural sports and club sports too. As far as the dorms go, I had a really good experience. I actually was in the all girls hall, and it turned out amazing. I met my closest friends there and my hall tried our best to always have our doors open....we often hung out together in one room though, so sometimes it would seem to others that only one door was open......most people are friendly though. And there's always something going on, something to do, no matter the time of day. Haha it's a college, sometimes people are doing the craziest things in the earliest hours! And as far as social activities, it's whatever you want to do....if you want to party, there's plenty of options for that, if you don't there's a lot of other stuff you can do, and like I said, it's a pretty active campus so no worries. Plus on nice days, you've got Horsetooth that's like 10 min away, and that's always a nice place to run off too.

Chris

I enjoy going to CSU sports games a lot. Its an awesome way to spend to the weekend for a cheap price. Some of the concerts they put on are not that good, but overall, I'd say they aren't too bad. When I lived in the dorms, people did not leave their doors open so it was hard to meet people. I'm not involved in any clubs on campus. I also don't go to any parties.

Dustin

I believe there could be a few more activities such as comedians and such. But for the most part CSU has a great range of intramurals to join and clubs. Unfortunately CSU football and basketball are terrible so sporting events are not a huge deal. Fraternities seem to only be important for a status symbol. Most of the time anybody with half a brain stays away from Frats such as the Pikes who are known for being the guys that will roofie a girl at a party. Luckily there are groups such as the coed fraternities, who of course have their problems like any other group but whose main goal is to help out the community rather then have a house and see how many parties and girls you can get.

Tiffany

the most popular activities are probably sports. everyone is athletic they always are at the gym or playing sports outside. some students leave their doors open, it depends on the dorm. dating is kind of a joke, seeing as hookingup has replaced it. people party like every night

Parker

there are a ton of resteraunts in ft collins to go to

Stephanie

The dorms are a lot of fun. the people on your hall become like family and leave the doors open and it is always so much fun. Fraternities and sororities could be fun for someadn seem pretty emphasized but not too much and others are usually invited to their activities.

Vanessa

Once again...I am married and live in Milliken, so I don't spend social time on camus.

Robin

The most poplular sport is football, although they havent had a very good season. In the dorms last year most people left their doors open when they were home, unless they were sleeping or studying.I met my closest friends on my floor last year. Watching tv and hanging out with friends. Most people party on weekends. Partied last weekend.

Kyle

Is great.

Whitney

I would say that the most popular organizations on campus is Greek life. Although i am not a part of any sort of sorority most of my friends are. Also most of the parties I attend are hosted my greeks.

Alex

I love the activities and social life, especially greek life and intramural sports. I wish that the administration and student body was more accepting of greek life, but it is definately the best decision I ever made to join. Living in the residence halls, I would say that most people leave their door open and are very friendly and inviting. A lot of people go to parties on the weekend, but other activities that we've done instead are watching movies, playing light up frisbee on the oval, sand volleyball at night, throwing around the football on the intramural fields, hot tubbing, camping....

Julie

That is one thing I have never really got involved with was the groups, organizations, clubs or teams. I know look back and wish that I could have joined more groups and helped the community more. My closest friends are my classmates. Meeting with them outside of class involved in watching movies, going to athetic events to cheer on the CSU. I would consider myself a night owl and don't go to bed tell like 2am and wake up at 9-10am in the morning. Usually I'm just doing homework, watching a movie or waiting for my boyfriend to get off work.

Gene

The dorms were a very good experience. People left their doors open and socialized. Freshman party way too much, almost daily.
