Seattle Pacific University is a well-rounded, high-achieving private school that invests in their students and cares deeply about campus interactions. All of their programs have highly skilled individuals that love teaching about the subject and are fully into helping their students love it too!

It is a very liberal Christian school which is why I like it. We talk about God but also politics. There are some partiers but the majority of us don't participate. People are very passionate about the environment and human rights. Academics are challenging but professors are invested and willing to help or talk.

I love the community of Seattle Pacific University and how they support and encourage students to engage in their culture and their surroundings. It is easy to meet people and make friends. Being a small school it is also easy to build a relationship with professors and staff that are available to support students’ academic life.

I really love the community and the faculty is incredible. As students, we get to engage with our professors on a much deeper level than other universities offer. We are encouraged to get involved politically, culturally, and in a myriad of other ways.

I love SPU! The community is one of the best parts. I know all of my professors and they know me; I can stop by their offices almost anytime to ask them questions and they are always more than happy to help. I often see them around campus and they'll always stop to chat with me. The class sizes are also wonderful - the average is probably about 15-25 students, so I know everyone in my classes. I am in the music program, so I've got a great co-hort of friends in all of my classes. The music program is also built off of encouragement and support where everyone wants to help each other to do the best we can. We all strive for excellence and constant improvement, but it's not a cut-throat type of program where people are hoping others will fail.

The campus is absolutely beautiful and gives a great home like feeling while walking around. The housing is decent and you get individual rooms to yourself. My favorite area on campus is Ames Library. It is absolutely amazing and it surprises me on how big and spacious it is. There is one downfall to this campus, everyone is extremely reserved and its a little hard to make friends outside of class.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

First and foremost if religion rubs you the wrong way this is probably not the school for you. it's not the most religiously strict school and you're not forced to go to chapel but, there are required theology courses. I personally found them meaningful because I got to learn about different denominations and different viewpoints in religion. Professors are very intentional about helping you in anyway they can in or outside of the classroom. The campus is absolutely beautiful all year round and there's always a big campus event each quarter. It's gradually growing into a more diverse school than it was in the past as well. Overall it's a great school, just be mindful that the growing economy and population of Seattle is causing prices to go up each year.

I love it here. It is so easy to feel a sense of belonging. People here want you to belong and that has made the move away from home so much easier. The professors care about you and your well being and that is a huge thing for me. I have enjoyed my time here so much more than I thought I would be!

I love Seattle Pacific University! The community here is amazing, and pretty much everyone is friendly and open. There are always fun things to do and ways to get involved. Residential life on campus is amazing! I live in Hill Hall, and it is so fun. People typically keep there doors open so that others can come and say hi, and most of my closest friends live on my floor. I can't imagine being anywhere else!
