What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

ali

I have learned the basics of being an adult and the responsibilities that will set me up for the future.

Jennifer

I have only attented my first week of college so far but u am learning how to better manage my time. I am currently on the soccer team at my current college and that is taking up alot of my time. I am learning that sometimes you have to choose what you can ans can't spend time on. I recently got married and it is very hard for me to not have him with me. He is in the airforce and will be deploying soon. I could have went to live with him before he deployed but I feel that it is so important for me to be able to learn more about myself and grow more as a person, which I would have not been able to do if i wasn't attending college. I want to get two years of school done and get my prerequisites done before i move with him. It will be very hard but I dont want to end up like so many other military wifes that do nothing other than be that stay at home mom. I want to be my own person and make my own living.

I feel that I have gained a great amount of knowledge on what I am passionate about and that it will allow me to be successful in life after college. I have learned to be more tolerant of different people and the beliefs they have which has made me a better person because of that. College is such an unique experience that is filled with new knowledge, interesting people, amazing sports and an all around good time. I have no regrets about going to college and I would do it again in a heart beat because it is has made me who I am today and has prepared me for the world beyond the college campus. I would advise that everyone at least attempt to get into college because it does provide an extremely beneficial experience.

With my experiences I found that, while it is possible to be successful in life without a college degree , college not only enhances one's knowledge but also contributes to personal growth in terms of leadership and involvement. I have been involved in several extracurricular activities including the Student Council, the Budget Panel (organization responsible for allocating funds for clubs), and others. As the Vice-President of the Student Council and as a team we provided Book Scholarships for students in need, raised $3,000 for communities in Senegal and Gambia to help cope with lack of water, and held a forum/fundraiser for the people of Haiti suffering due to the earthquake. As an International Relations major at a two-year college I had a very valuable learning experience. However, my involvement on campus and in my community was critical because it encouraged me to pursue a career in social services and taught me to take initiative in my community. I am now in my 3rd year studying Social Work and I plan to pursue a Master's Degree and a career where I will assist families in crisis and children having difficulties in school due to biopsychosocial factors.

My college life has been an enduring adventure. As I continue my college education, I have found myself hustling more than I have ever before. To begin with, at the age of twenty one I had finally decided to pursue my overall dreams to become an Obstetrics and Gynecologist medical doctor. I’m currently a sophomore at Citrus Community College where I have been blessed with such incredible instructors who have made my college experience much more enjoyable. Furthermore, I have realized how much work I’ve been accomplishing today than I did in high school. College isn’t just a learning experience, but I feel as if it allows me to express my individuality. The more education I receive, the more educated I will become. First, college is a way for me to think about new ways to help society. For example, I think about the improvement of medicine and how it can save tens and thousands of people each day, and not only in the U.S but also in other countries. All in all, there are not many words that can describe the astounding passion I have in making a difference in the future.

Zorayr

Most people would say college has taught them about chemistry, biology, or math, but that is not the only things that I have gotten out of college experience. College allows you to search your own path, and create your own future. It allows students to have independence, and learn and live their own way. I have also learned with this comes a lot of responsibility, I have learned when I can have a social life, and when I have to buckle down and do studying, or homework, and balancing these things out really helps in the long run. I believe that I am going to carry with me my college experiences throughout my whole life, and be able to tell my children and grandchildren how great college is, and how it opens a lot of doors for the future.

This is my freshman year at the University of Arizona. My college experience so far has been an awesome one. I have met new people and have made so many friends. My professors are very nice and very helpful. Everyone here is willing to help with whatever you need. There are many activities and groups. I attended my first football game and had a wonderful time. The school spirit is so great here everyone is so school spirited. Attending this school has already proven to be very valuable because I feel like I have already learned so much, acedemically and socially.

Derrick

"The college experience is an unforgettable experience" is what people tell me everytime I mention college or even just say the word. I recently just moved in a dorm, so far, a different experience. I mean I have to, literally, share almost every detail about me with someone I've never met. On top of that, the studying itself is something that needs some preparing for. I have no idea about how college teaching is like, yet I'm prepared for it in a way. Even though these aspects of college are intense and new, it's definitely a great experience and an unforgettable one at that.

Maryam

The first thing that comes to my mind is the friendships and connections I have made. What is knowledge without experience? I study and do well in school but everything that I learn could never relate to the amazing connections I have made. Everyone at the University of Arizona is usually out of state or out of town, not many Tucson locals reside around campus. A good outcome of that is that everyones new home becomes Tucson and the U of A so everyone is so nice and wants to be friends and make their own home away from home. I have met the most amazing people and know I am going to have these connections for life.

Stephanie

My college experiance has been great! I have overcome some obsticals with having Bipolar Disorder that have made me relize that anything is possible if you just try and apply yourself. Time managment has to be the greatest knowledge I have earned from attending college. This has helped in college life while also a great help in personal life. Obtaining an Associates Degree has been the greatest acheivment in my life. I cannot wait to continue my education, then obtain a job in the accounting field or become a CPA one day. It has been valuable to attend college to make a better life for myself and my daughter. I have struggled all of my life to make everything better and now I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I have struggled with Bipolar disorder for many years making things hard to manage time for anything. Now I am so happy that I took the leap in attending college, and have the chance to make a better life.

Andre

I have learned alot from my college experience, but the most important has been independence and the true feeling of responsability. While in college, I am 2,000 miles away from my parents and nearest family members. I must be able to make my own decicions regarding to do homework or not, go out with friends the night before a test, go get medicine when I am sick, etc. There are alot of good influences and positive activities to do on campus. At the same time there are times when people offer you drugs and alcohol, and invite you to parties. Throughout my life I have never experimented with drugs or alcohol, and when being peer pressured, it is important for myself to stand with my beliefs and say NO! It has been valuable to attend the University of Arizona because here I can major in Animal Science and earn a Bachelor's degree which is very important to not only my family but myself.

Fabian

When you walk on to the campus you feel a sense of well being. You feel like somebody important, somebody who can change the world. When you look around you see other students of all colors, sizes and shapes. We do not criticize each other because of how we look but of how we act. We are all well educated and we are all equal. Since attending college I have gained knowledge, confidence and most importantly motivation. For me it has been so valuable since attending because of the motivation I have gained, when I am having a rough day only motivation can turn it around. Motivation is the reason we live for, it is what keeps all of us living and wanting to become a more better person.

Aimee

When I am not in the classroom I am volunteering in the community. I love to give back to the community whether it is raising money for an organization, walking for a cause, or helping underprivileged kids. Volunteering was never something I was forced to do as a child; it’s something that I feel is a part of who I am as a person. I love being involved and that’s the reason why I never have any free time. The College of Education has provided me with many opportunities through out my years here and I can’t thank my advisors enough. When I was a Freshman I had a mentor but unfortunately she never was there for me and when I had questions I didn’t know who to ask, so when I became a sophomore I decided to become a Peer Mentor. I wanted to become more involved in the College so I decided to become a College of Education Ambassador. I love having people contact me with questions and being able to interest younger students in the idea of going to college and that it is a goal everyone should consider.

I've learned that college is much similiar to the real-world. Im out on my own without many of my friends or family members. I can either choose to attend class or miss out on a much needed education, either way my decision effects me. Just as a regular job, it's your choice not to go work, but the decsion will effect you. I also learned that college is a big responsibilty and such responsibility requires effort and motavation. Without the two you are bound to a negative outcome. You have to believe that you can do it before you just take a leap. This information is very valuable to me because it allows me to be open-minded and have faith in my goals. This experience helped me to know that I can do anything as I believe.

James

I have become more of a business professional and I have truly focused in on what is important to me and what I would like to get out of life. The University of Arizona has made college affordable for me. I love attending this unviersity for that reason. They have opened many doors and new ways of thinking.

lorena

i have gained a lot of knowledge in several different areas. i have became more educated about different studies and have learned to understand that we live in a broad world of opportunitied and that with hard work and persistence educational goals can be accomplished. my experience at my current college has definitely been valueble to me because after years of contemplating on my future plans, i have been able to see the fruit my commitment towards my educational plans.

Andre

My college experiance so far is excellent. I enjoy the feeling that there are thousands of like minded individuals that are pursuing some form of higher eduacation. That they settle not for what only high school can offer but wish to expound on the foundation of "pre-requisite" work. I take delight in the pride of being a "wildcat" and feel a sense of familiarity amongst the people that have attended the great University of Arizona. Although I find myself at this university much later than hoped for, this experiance brings great value to me. I have in front of me, an opportunity to gain the knowledge to better myself and in turn better my family. I go to class evert time knowing that when I finish my program I will have made great strides for a better future for not only my immediate family, but for the people around me as well. In a time where education seems to be at a high cost, there are costs that cannot be measured when in comes to stability in the home. I wish to contine to bring stability to my home and through this university's education, I will acomplish it.

sarah

I've learned a lot about helping others. Helping others is going to help when I get in the workforce.

Cameron

My college experience has given me many valuble things. First of all I have met some of my very best friends while attending classes at the University of Arizona. These are friends that I know will be around for the rest of my life and that truly means a lot to me. I have also learned an enormous amount about the workings of the world around me. My classes and my experiences in college have not only taught me valuble lessons about philosophy or biology or economics, I have also learned how to get the most out of life. I have learned how to go out and learn the things I want to learn about and to live the life that I want to live. In the end that is what I came to college for, and education and a direction in life.

Connie

Considering that I graduated from high school 27 years ago, the idea of embarking on a higher education adventure at my "ripe old age' was a bit intimidating, to say the least. None-the-less, I took the assessment exams to see where I "fit in" and was pleased to have qualified for the honors program in each area except math. I enthusiastically began my classes and quickly discovered that I wasn't the only older student on the block and despite the generation gap, had little difficulty relating to my younger peers. As semesters come and go, the familiarity of classmates past and present still provoke a reminiscent chat about endless hours of study group or lab reports or tearing our hair out over that incomprehensible math concept!...other times it's a night out with those whom I now call friends. I will complete my associates degree soon and hopefully, on to the UofArizona in January. I value the diversity of people, the complexity of subjects, and the unforgetable memories, but above all, a renewed sense of worth, confidence, and appreciation for myself and the abilities that I thought previously were unattainable personal goals. Never stop learning!

robert

I am a freshman and just started college this Fall. Therefore, I cannot answer this question in its entirety but I do know that attending college is one of the most important things in my life. I come from a family where on my father's side I am the second generation to attend college and I am the third generation on my mother's side to do so. Even though college can be overwhelming and challenging it does shape you into anything that you aspire to be and opens up doors which otherwise would remain closed. It helps you to discover yourself and shapes you into who are going to be. I already feel that my whole outlook in life seems to be changing and this brief experience so far, away from home, is having me explore and think of things in a different light altogether. I feel more independent and more self reliant. I realize that just attaining a college degree will not be enough to get to where I want to be. However, I am sure that it does make it easier to get started and then there is the confidence to "make it work".

Ashley

I think it is an incredible value to attend a University to get a post-secondary education. Personally, it is of great value to me because I am a first-generation college student. It is extremely important to me to be able to graduate, with honors, in order to teach my own children that they are capable of anything they put their minds to - anything that they are passionate about. My focus in the future is to have a family, and to be able to be a role model for my family. Thus, graduating with a college education, and an enhanced passion for a particular field of study, is very important for myself and my future . This passion is one of the many things that I have developed through my college career. I started studying in my current field during high school; going to college allowed me to expand my knowledge, and really focus my interests and depths of study. in addition to developing an expertise in a field, college has allowed me to obtain a more expanded general knowledge of a number of diverse subjects, which is of great value for being an aware member of our smodern ociety.

Lavina

I caqn not wait to attend my classes in my new college. I want to meet my new friends there and form some groups in order to help out for the betterment of the community. I want to discover many new things about my college so I can help other incoming freshman that really feel so nervous as I have been feeling. However, I had some great leaders helping me out with the new campus and they are always there if I need any help with anything.

Danielle

College for me has always been a dream for a better future. I have learned many practical skills to add to my workforce experience. I have been able to learn more about the united states and about where the government and the business world is headed in the future. Being in school and a business major during the recession has opened my eyes to a different outlook on how our economy is run and the backlash as a result of our tough economic times. College has taught me more than what you can learn by sitting down and reading the news or watching the stock market on tv. It has taught me to look beyond the surface and dig in deeper to the heart of the issues rather than ignoring yet another thing that seems to be going poorly in our country.

Alyssa

I've met lifelong friends and tested and learned my personal limits. I've had to perfect my time management skills to balance academics, family, friends, and extracurricular activities. But most of all, I've found an environment where I can ask questions and learn as much as possible about any topics or areas that interest me. I don't feel any hesitation in talking to professors or emailing them questions outside of class. I can learn freely, and I enjoy the semi-rigorous schedule of work and studying, because it keeps me focused and helps me set a personal rhythm to carry throughout my life. My future is everything to me, and with the U of A, I feel that there are a plethora of people and resources devoted to helping me achieve the best life I possibly can.

Matthew

Because Greek Life so such an important part of social life at the University of Arizona, I have been able to gain a memorable college experience. One that I will remember for a lifetime. I have been able to volunteer in many different non-profit and institutionalized organizations. Some of which were HOPE Animal Shelter, and Ronald-McDonald

My college experience has thus far been a great learning experience. Though college has not been the smoothest experience from me, these setbacks have taught me alot. From being forced to withdraw due to sickness to switching majors when I thought it was far too late - the University of Arizona has made it as easy as possible to follow my dreams while still challenging me academically. Not only have I learned a lot, I have made great friends and connections that will help me pursue a career after I have graduated. Overall, I have become an ambitious, confident, and happy person because of my college experience.

Kimberly

My college experience has enriched my life in many ways. One of the most important things that my college experience has provided me with is confidence. I was always the "shy" kid in school, wanting to please others and never get into trouble. I never considered myself as anything other than average, and didn't feel like I was the intelligent, pretty, or popular one. My college experience has given me a sense of accomplishment and the confidence to pursue things I never felt I would have been good enough to do before. It has helped me to grow into a functioning adult with many possibilities in life and was the start of some close lifelong friendships. My college experience has been valuable to me for many reasons but most importantly because it has helped me to discover who I am and my place in this world.

Monica

My love of science led me to major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, in the course of which, I discovered my passion truly lied in human biology. Through my 1st degree I was able to gain experience, teach children about science, and conduct independent research. I completed my bachelor’s of science at the University of Arizona with three Honorable Mentions. When choosing my 2nd degree, nursing was the perfect fit; it combined my love of biology with my love of people. While finishing my prerequisites I found employment in several medical positions that would give me knowledge to enhance and better my future career as a nurse. Unfortunately, in response to the economic downturn the hospital was forced to reduce positions, leaving me unemployed and without the income and tuition reimbursement I had expected to pay for my schooling. I am currently in the University of Arizona’s College of Nursing program and was just awarded the Dean’s List with Distinction for my last semesters 4.0 GPA. As a recipient of your scholarship I would offer a continued display of intense academic motivation, a diverse set of interests, and provide an excellent example as a nursing student.

Stacy

Although I feel like I've learned a vast amount of information academically, I think the most valuable portion of my education is the life lesson it has taught me. I have learned to commit to something, stick to it, and do whatever it takes to see it through and endure to the end.

Monica

As i statred my forst day of college i though it was going to be harder as it was said to be. I have entered a Junior college where there is more hand-on that relates to my major. This is great to start off with these to get an idea how it is out there in the working life. Everything done n this school is to prepare us for the life which relates to my career.

Ana

I believe obtaining a well-rounded college education is my first step towards becoming a valuable candidate for future employers. The University of Arizona has helped me grow both academically and professionally. Struggling through classes, the university offers many opportunities for me to attend free tutoring and publicizes private tutors found throughout campus. The counseling department offers study tips, new opportunities, and other assistance during stressful times. World renowned instructors have allowed me to be creative, intelligent, and future-based throughout my coursework. These instructions have taught me to discover for myself the most effective way for me to study and learn. In addition to staff, this university also allows students to join countless clubs throughout campus. As I integrated in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, I have reached out to my community and the university campus by attending their many events offered. This organization has helped me grow professionally as I participate in conferences and career fairs. The speakers brought at the weekly meetings motivate me to learn and be creative within my classes. They push me to believe I can reach my academic goals while still enjoying college and taking advantage of daily opportunities presented to me.

Max

I have so far learned a lot about what it takes to be an independent person responsible for myself. Before going away to school, I had never lived on my own, and my first year at Arizona it was pretty challenging to stay on top of all my schoolwork and to manage my priorities. I have learned that it takes a lot of self-control and discipline, but I can make good choices, succeed in my classes, and still have fun. That lesson has given me more self-confidence and made me more excited about being at Arizona. And now that I have picked a major and can focus on a particular subject, I am much more excited about my classes. I have learned that I need a clear focus and direction in order to do well and be happy.

Jillian

My parents will always have the upper hand because of their age and experience. Just like any other kid I was guided on how to accomplish things in life. Their advice was not always taken in consideration but granted it was always given. My father patiently taught me how to drive manual at 16 because I stubbornly refused to drive anything else. My loving mother showed me how to ride a horse. She taught me the balance of being patient with the animal and knowing when to be aggressive. When I started college I learned there was a way I could help my parents. Neither of them had earned a college degree and when my dad decided to finish his education, he turned to me. I told him how to buy the cheapest textbook, and most importantly how to keep up in computer classes. My parents didn’t come from a computer generation. One of the most amazing experiences college has given me is the ability to help my father in school. Even though it is only microscopic to how they have helped me, I felt gratified to know I was able to give him advice when he needed me.

Magdalena

Through my college experience, I have learned that if I really set my mind to something, I can achieve it. I have found that through taking classes that I once felt were pointless and a waste of time I have become a more rounded person who is more open to new ideas and new experiences. Thus far college has been valuable because I have learned how to balance my rigorous school schedule with my 20 hour work week, as well as spending time with my family and friends. I have learned that if I put my mind to something I can accomplish it, and if I put off till tomorrow things I want to do today, I may never have the chance to experience the world. So now I complete the things that I have to do for school and work, but I always make time to have a little fun. What is life if you do not enjoy it? Now I truly believe that I can have everything I want; a great education, a job that I love, a family, and the time and means to make memories that will last forever.

Jonathon

In addition to learning a substantial mount of information in my dual areas of study (social sciences and Business), I have made countless friends and contacts that have not only helped on my way through campus, but in finding out who I am as well. I think the University of Arizona is a great place for those who wish to work hard, enjoy themselves often, and watch future doors open for them.

Jeff

The opportunity to meet people and network has been excellent. My classes so far really ignite that fire for knowledge that I didn't find so much during high school. So far I have found many ways to get involved from being in clubs, to lobbying, to even getting involved in the politics of the universities student government. I think that unlike highschool, I feel like I'm actually preparing for the real world and the rest of my life. It is exciting and empowering to know that after school, I will be starting a career and building a successful future. I get to be a college kid but at the same time, I'm getting connected and making myself known to employers and the business world. The school spirit is great and I love being a Wildcat who has pride in my school and a greatfulness for all the opportunities in and out of campus life. It has been an awesome first year and I am so glad I made the University of Arizona my college to prepare me for the real world of business.

Rachel

I have had a great experience getting my pre-requisites out of the way so I can start the nursing program this fall. I have learned so much, from writing a research paper to a day in the life of a virus. I am so happy that I have finally decided to get an education. I am 38 and have struggled financially all my life. I can't wait to become a registered nurse and earn a great salary and, in the process, help people.

Carmen

Through the college experience I have learned more than what is taught in the classroom. The immense amount of information learned in each class has opened my eyes to see the world and myself in a different way. Prior to college, the world outside of my own home and school did not matter. The world that I cared about was my own. The first class that opened my eyes to the outside world was a basic Geography course. The very first day of class I could not even name the seven continents! At the end of the course I knew about problems that some countries face such as the poverty levels, the lack of resources, and the corruption in the government. One slowly begins to realize what is going on outside of his/her own life and the importance of being aware and getting out there to help others. Now I live my life by the motto: "There is always someone out there who has it worse. So appreciate everything you have, even the bad."

Elizabeth

My college experiance has taught me numerous things. I was a very closed-minded person with little confidence in myself and my abilities when I started my college education. However, during my years at the University of Arizona, I really grew up and transformed into a whole new person. I came out with with the degree I worked hard for, knowing so many new things about the world and eager to know and learn more. I developed a sense of diversity, acceptance of other cultures and peoples, a sense of community, learned the value of teamwork, and most importantly, found the confidence in myself required to do all these things and more. I think fondly of my professors, who guided my learning but never controlled it or restricted it. Hands-on activities allowed me to learn from my mistakes and engage my whole self in my learning. I was constantly encouraged and supported by my professors. I believe this amazing learning environment shaped me into a valuable member of society. I now think of myself as one of many, a contributer of the whole, and I plan to never stop learning in order to maintain this confidence.

Carley

Attending the University of Arizona has strengthened my self-confidence by teaching me one very valuable lesson. I've learned that when you tripped over your bicycle pedal or completely butchered your class presentation, very few people were really paying attention and those that were forgot about it by now. So live like no one's watching. These four years are about you and no one else. It doesn't matter how embarrassing your mistakes seem because no one really cares. Don't avoid going back up in front of the class or cycling back home again, just don't mix up your diary entry with your history notes next time. Everyone who walks into your lecture hall has their own set of problems that keeps them from wanting to pay attention to yours. You can see it in the perturbed looks on other’s faces as they chew on a pen in psych class or as they stumble through the halls, staring nervously down at texts or notes. So live like no one's watching and don't be afraid to try things over and over and over again because no one really gets it the first time.

Daniel

I'm 31 years; I don't have the luxury to play around no more. I’m about to start school over this fall. I really have 3 ears to get my bachelor. I didn't understand how important this piece of paper was, until last November.

Stephanie

After spending just one year at the university I have learned what exactly it means to be responsible of yourself as well as your finances. Being on your own and being around other students that are in the same boat as you, I have learned that until it is necessary to gain your own responsibility before gaining responsibility of others. You need to know how to be responsible and strong even in the hardest situations/times. This has been a valuable experience for me thus far because I know that in order to be a fully functioning citizen I need to have a sense of responsibility for not only myself but for others in my life/community as well.

Charlonda

I have gained knowledge more than anything from my college experience. I have now came to the realization that it is not about that fancy job you expect to get at the end of the road, but it is more about discovering yourself and the world around you. Way too many people think that a college degree gurantees you a job and financial success, but if those are the reasons for attending college then they will never full understand how valuable an education really is. Ever heard the saying you learn something new everyday? Well, I learn hundreds of things everyday and all of those things helps me get a better perspective of my self as a human being, the culture we adhere to, and many other worldy problems. This is not just a college experience, this is a lifelong experience and that is why it is valuable to attend.

Ryan

Through my college experience I have learned about what I want to do with my life. Going into college from high school the direction I was heading was completely different. I thought that I wanted to focus my studies on biochemistry. During my first year and a half of college I was able to work in a lab with hands on experience in this field and through this experience I learned that what I really wanted to do was a completely different direction. After taking some psychology classes and volunteering at a local organization, I realized that I wanted to interact with people and be able to make a difference in their lives. Not only was I able to find my true passions, but I was able to get hands on experience and even able to change my mind. The education that I have recieved has allowed me to be able to make my passions into something more than just a passion, but a career that I can be happy in and make a difference in people's lives.

jasmine

What i have gotten out of my college experience thats of the most value, is the knowledge and the overall accomplishment of being able to stand proud as a role model to my children. Although i am a young mother i have never given up my dreams and goals of becoming a university graduate. Now due to their important role in my decisions, they provide a self motivation that never decreases and can be hard to hold onto for anyone that is juggling life and school. My experiences in college have helped mold me into the intelligent adult i am today by giving me the tools i needed to learn, adapt, accept responsibilty, and above all else become successfull in my career and anything else in life that comes my way. I feel every person can benefit greatly from college wether it is to have a career or to be a stronger more confident individual.

Nichole

My first day at the University of Arizona was as hectic as any other first day of school, only the campus was twenty times larger than that of my community college. As I scrambled from class to class clutching my schedule to my chest like a rosary, and hoping my teachers would be merciful if I were late, I wondered if every day during the semester would be this fast-paced. Not surprisingly, they were. Between reading eighteen novels, writing analytical papers on most of them, studying for midterms and finals, and working part-time, I didn’t get a breath of fresh air until the semester was over. After spending a couple weeks recovering from finals, I checked my grades online to find that not only had I survived the semester, but I had received A’s in all of my classes! I was ecstatic. But regardless of my grades, I felt that I had taken home much more from the semester. I had formed new friendships, managed to be on time to most of my classes, and finished the semester with the satisfaction of newly acquired knowledge. I witnessed my long hours of hard work rewarded.

Kaila

There are so many benefits that you get from having a college experience. You quickly learn time management and how to work your way around beginning of the semester traffic. You become more independant of your parents and start taking initiative to do things for yourself, like; registering yourself for classes, buying and selling your text books, and handling matters of financial aid. You also learn how to communicate with others outside of the classroom and create study groups. In high school friends are easy to make, but in college you have to take initiative to meet people. The people you meet will come from all walks of life and will better your educational experience. Attending college has been valuable to not only my education but to my growth as an individual as well.
