I feel like Toledo is a great school, that has a lot to offer. First the offer amazing internship opportunity. if you choose to attend Toledo rest assured that you will be set up with the best possible internship. After Graduation you can also expect to have a nice job waiting for you if you applied yourself during your years attending Toledo.

I was introduced to the University of Toledo while on a school trip with half of my senior class. When I stepped off the bus, I immediately noticed how pristine the campus appeared. One of the first buildings we entered was the library, and I could tell that students took study time seriously based on the silence. We walked through the eating area, and I appreciated the warm atmosphere it gave. Finally, I was amazed at the size of the gymnasium and the pool.

I think that UT is a school that people who live in the state/in Toledo speak poorly about fairly often, just because it is close to home. It does have some great aspects about it, such as football games being a big deal with a fairly good team (if you're into that sort of thing) and specific programs that are very well run. The campus is also fairly nice with a rec center and open space for sports. It definitely lacks in the arts, as it's mostly focused on its engineering/science/mathematics programs, but there are still options to partake in those programs/organizations if desired.

I love the school they have so much to do on campus and it’s super safe and it’s close to my home town which is good for me so I have nothing to complain about the school also it is low in crime

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Take a chance. Go somewhere that fits you, but be willing to take a stance and step outside of your comfort zone. Universities have so much to offer to the students who seek those chances. Faculty are really just good friends with lots of knowledge. Get involved, live on campus as long as you can. Don't depend on your car. And don't date someone from high school.. expand your network and watch the horizons grow... You just never know how small this world really is until you live it.

  3. Describe the students at your school.

The classmates here at the University of Toledo are very friendly, and will treat new students well. If a student misses a class, others will help them out as long as you ask politely, and are not asking too much of the other student. However, in class and out of class can be different. Outside of the classroom setting it is somewhat difficult for someone to make friends. Most people come here with friends from their High Schools and tend to stick with the same friends. Other than that, the people here are great and it is a friendly place.

  7. What kind of person should not attend this school?

I would say if you don't have patience or you would like an extremely large college, then I would not suggest this school to you. This campus is a pretty nice size, but their are bigger schools out there for those who don't want to feel confined to smaller spaces. As for patience, I would say you need it if your going to deal with the financial system at the University of Toledo.

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

The actual size of UT’s student population seems to be just right. From class sizes to campus events, comfortable amounts of people are always present. I believe that there is somewhat of a negative image associated with UT because of the area surrounding it. The campus community, in my opinion, is completely different from the area around it, much like many other colleges. I wish that more of the Toledo community felt a bond with the campus, not just faculty and staff. To many members of the Toledo community, UT is viewed as just another business and sometimes as a completely separate city.

  15. What are the academics like at your school?

Most of my professors seem to know my name and I communicate with many of them on a daily basis. When it comes to the education of a student, the academic opportunities are endless. However, a student can only take advantage of these opportunities if they choose to do so, it will not happen on its own.

The greek community at UT is the largest grouping of organizations on campus. In most cases, fraternity and sorority members are often involved a good amount of other organizations and activities. I do wish that UT students would explore the city for social activities. Many students often stay within a few miles of UT looking for things to do when there is an entire city of activities surrounding the

  17. What is the stereotype of students at your school?

The one stereotype that comes to mind is the fact that we have a lot of diversity on campus. Also, since Toledo is such a big city, a lot of people think that it's just a commuter school.

  19. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

The stereotype of the students at my school is that everyone is only here because they got money to come here or because they didn't get into another school. While there is some truth to be found here, it doesn't matter because your education at UT is what you make it and can be just as valuable at another state school in Ohio. If you work hard, you will succeed and UT has the potential to excel you into a valuable job market or a quality graduate school.
