It is a wonderful University! The staff are all supportive and helpful, the curriculum is relevant and educational, and the University has done well to be accommodating for all of its students. My advisor has been very helpful to keep me on the right track!
WT is one of the greatest places a student that grew up in a small town can attend. It has the family-like atmosphere, small town feel, and is full of genuine and hardworking people. WT is a great place to be, especially if you are pursuing a degree in agriculture.

First of all, to students, know what you are going to be doing(majoring or minoring) for college. That will narrow down the results for the type of college/university you want to look into. Most colleges are known for prodigious programs, such as sports, the arts, law, medical fields, etc. Once you know that, visit your selected colleges, take your parents/guardians with you (this really helps for they are your greatest support) walk the campuses, speak with the dean of the school, and learn as much as you can. You will find your niche if you really know what YOU want. Next, apply for your college early! Plan ahead! Never wait. By doing things early you will be the first choice. First come, first serve. Universities love it when you have all the information down. Next, apply for scholarships-lots of them. If you are in financial need, scholarships really help. Find positive and legal ways to secure your admission. College is amazing. You grow to be on time, more organized, more socially active, and you learn to be yourself most of all. Times do get busy with your studies, but everything is totally and COMPLETELY worth it.
The lack of parking and the amount of construction that is always going on.
Anyone looking for a small town feel and a community who really focuses and supports its athletes.
Helpful, sometimes.
The unique thing about tis school is that it feels just like home and that everyone here is so friendly and nice. The people here will actually know your name and want to hang out unlike other big schools that don't even know your name. Another thing is that the people here are so polite and that there ARE gentlemen who open doors for young ladies here.
West Texas A&M University is founded on finding the true you, and reaching goals with all the help needed.
The best part about West Texas A&M University would have to be the friendly, studious atmosphere WT has to offer. Students, including myself, have an opportunity to learn by given a wide range of resources to assist us as we further our education. Every course instrutor has a helpful attitude and see teaching as a passion rather than a job. Everything we need to accomplish our eduation goals are within our reach as every student thrives to maximize his/her abilities inside and outside the classroom.
It is in a very small town, so as far as social activities off campus there is not a whole lot available.
I don't think any kind of person should be prohibited to attend this school. What makes a school better is the diversity of cultures that it has.
Exact housing requirements
I brag mostly about the brotherhood that I am able to experience everyday from my fraternity brothers. They have helped me through many things, and I cannot wait to help others as well.
The best thing about my school is that it is big enough to do what it needs in order to teach students to create an effective and successful career, but still small enough to allow students the many opportunities that would be so easily missed at a larger school. There is so much competition at larger schools that students are not allowed the same experiences as would be allowed at a smaller school.
It is a great school. The teachers and faculty really care about the students and their future success.
Since WT is a smaller school, it is likely that the teachers will know your name. This is great and allows for great professional relationships and class participation.
Football games are very popular at WT but students support all of the sports programs. Greek life is popular, but there are still large number of people who are not involved in Greek life.
I don't know if there is really a stereotype for WT students. Many of the students are from small towns in this area. People are really friendly and eager to help!
