I was very excited when I found out I was accepted to Plymouth State. I had heard many good things about it and I'm happy to say the school has lived up to my expectations. I have made many friends and next year two of my high school friends are going to transfer in based on my experience in the first few months at the school. I look forward to the next several years.

Very nice town, generally friendly people and staff. Class size is generally pretty small, 30 max unless in a lecture for psychology or other sciences. There are always activities happening throughout the week. We have a free ski day where there are no classes and you can learn to ski or snowboard if you don't already know how to. It's pretty cool.

Plymouth State has been an amazing experience for my first semester of college, although its dining hall options, and it on campus housing could be better both of these are pretty comprisable to other colleges in the area. The people and Professors are all very approachable, and willing to help in any way they can! So far its been great!

My overall opinions of Plymouth State University is that it is an okay school. There is a nice downtown area to explore, however I am usually pretty bored on campus. The dining hall does not offer many items that I can eat with my allergies, and I often find myself ill from the food served.

I am a freshman here at Plymouth State University and as a first year student I have really come to enjoy it here! This place really feels like my new home. I have great friends, the professors are awesome and there's a ton of things to do around campus. The environment is very friendly and they want you to feel comfortable here no matter what. The campus is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains. I really would recommend this school to any high school students; it is affordable!

Plymouth State has a beautiful campus. The people who attend/work for Plymouth State are some really amazing people. The only thing I would change is the amount of financial aid that is available. I unfortunately can't return this semester due to not receiving enough aid and not having someone to cosign a private student loan for me. I now have to watch all my friends move back in this weekend without me. Overall Plymouth is a great school I just wish they had more financial options available for students like me.

Plymouth State University has the best scenic views! Surrounded by majestic mountains and serene flowing rivers, it offers students a plethora of activities both in the fall and winter seasons! The quaint downtown and common areas, give you ample reasons to visit, for a cup of coffee, some lunch or just to shop at one of it's novelty shops. There are many opportunities to get involved at PSU, whether it is a job, sports or volunteer choices. The professors are eager to meet with their students and give much of their time to guide them to achieve success. I love Plymouth State University!

Community is Key

Plymouth State University is a small community. Everyone knows each other which makes for a happy and safe environment. The first few weeks at Plymouth were very hard because I didn't know anyone, but whenever I needed help there was always a smiling face willing to help. Another great thing about Plymouth is since the class sizes are small the professors get to know you as a student as well as a person. All the professors want you to succeed as long as you put the effort in. I came from a small town in Vermont, and I can truly say the transition to Plymouth State University was an easy one because of these two point I made above. I feel as I am already part of the big family at Plymouth, and I cannot wait to see where the next four years bring me.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

There is one key piece of advice I would have for moving onto college. Make friends, go out and do things and don't spend your entire first semester without any true friends. It doesn't have to be a lot, but then it doesn't have to be just a few. Find the number that is right for you. College is about experiencing new( preferably safe) things, and you have no idea how much happier you'll be with a solid core of friends by your side. A regular meal time with four friends will do more for you then you can realize right now. But it is something which you will come to love and treasure when you have it, and crave it whenever it can't happen, or whenever the entire family isn't there. You'll never know how happy you can be until you experience life with a few people you love and trust. Just take care of yourself, and take care of your friends, and go out and live and experience that life. Trust me, a few close friends will make you wonder how you made it through the past four years without them.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

The small, quaint town of Plymouth, the quality of the people here and especially the quality of the entertainment/activities on-campus groups put on for the student body. Be it tie-dye, movie nights, activity nights, ski days, etc, there is always something to do here, and there are always people willing to help you and befriend you.
