I wish I knew more about the teachers. Once i start in the fall i will be thrust into an atmosphere that i have never known. Any extra information on the teacher and more information on scholarshpis that are available to me would have been greatly appriciated. I want to be as active in my college life as possible and all of this information would have been great.

I wish I would have known how to have better time mangement. A college student has some much time of their hands but many do not know how to spend it wisely. The faculty does not care about students, you have to do everything yourself, and fill out forms for everything. Everyone parties and is into drinking heavily mostly underage, and all i want is my education.

Kelli

That college was not like High School. That i'd have to study - and study hard.

Alana

You will never finish in 4 years.

Brandon

I researched it pretty well, and orientation did a good job, so there is nothing much I can really add to this.

Christopher

I personally wish that my high school would had endowed me with better study habbits. The public school system even in an honors program was alittle unchallenging, and doesn't properly prepare a student for what he/she will be facing in college academia.

Jessica

I wish I had known more about how to budget my money wisely before coming to UCF. I wish I had taken a financing class or had come up with a good plan on how to save/spend my money.

Broc

There was not very much that i wasn't aware of when i started attending at the University of Central Florida. However, i wish i fully understood how large the student population was. Being the 3rd largest school in the country, it was a definite eye opener.

The online classes are way more involved than they are at the community college.

I wish I would have known how expensive it is to attend a university. I did well in highschool, and in return i got the Bright Futures Scholarship. However, due to recent changes to the Bright Future Scholarship's payment policy it leaves my family coming out of pocket for most of my expenses. Although I know it will pay off in the long run, I am struggling to stay in school. However, I won't give up, because UCF is where I belong and where I want to be.

Audrey

I would recommend that new students get involved in as much as possible. I participated in alot of activities during my first year of college and it was really amazing. I was able to meet a broad variety of people and have many different experiences. Make the most out of your opportunitues. i got a little bit of a late start. I wish I had known this earlier.

Michael

Perhaps a full listing of all extracurricular activities here. And maybe the advantages of one film degree vs. another.

Jonathan

There really isn't anything I didn't know. The orientation to the school pretty much told me everything there was to know about the programs, activites, and everything else the campus life offered.

Christopher

Nothing! I'm glad I came here not knowing anything about the college or it's surroundings.

Jacob

If there was one thing I wish I knew before coming to UCF is how much stuff there is going on on the actual campus. There are som many activities and organizations here. I mean there is never a dull moment when there is nothing to do. So to help prospective students decide it is good for them to know, that yeah UCF is located in the middle of a really big city with lots of things to do, but there is already so much to do on campus that you don't even have to leave.

Brittany

It isn't necessary to live on campus your first year. Definitely start in summer for the best experience. Meal plan is completely unnecessary. You will definitley find your niche. You can always visit home so don't be scared to try new things if that's the case.

Ekta

University of Central Florida is quite a nice school. UCF is growing a lot and I have learned a lot from being here in just a semester. I wish I had known more about the city and the problem with transportation. Traffic seems to be a bit of a problem, as well as parking. But just like any city, it has growing pains, but in the end UCF has a great campus.

Adam

That housing locations are very expensive.

Rachel

First, I wish that I could have known that I am now responsible for my education and what I take out of classes and not my parents. Second, I wish I could have been aware of transfer options and information.

Richard

I did quite a bit of research before finally deciding to attend the University of Central Florida. It is my responsibility to attain the necessary information and that goes for other students as well. In addition to the extensive and detailed information available on the UCF website, there are advisors in each department that are more than willing to provide guidance to their students. So, in retrospect, I would have to say there isn't anything I "wished I known." Here at UCF, information is accessible and readily available, which in my experience, is one of UCF's greatest qualities.

Jerrica

I wish I knew how crowded the school is, before coming to this school, classes are over crowded students often are reduced to sitting on the floor because there arent enough seats available in the classes as well as housing.

Kathleen

I wish I had known how hard it is to get financial aid.

Maria

That there were other programs/college other than Business.

Katrina

Before I came to this school, I would have loved to have told myself not to be so nervous. Everyone here is in the same boat and around the same age. We all are trying to accomplish our goals and there are tons of teachers, counselors and even peers to help us out along the way if we get lost or confused. I knew i would make it out okay; however, my expectations were exceeded when UCF showed me they truly cared. I would have told myself to relax, focus, strive for the best, and I will accomplish my dreams.

Linnea

I wish i would have known more about academic advising and graduate schools.

Heather

I wish I would have better prepared myself for what I really want to do

Elyes

I wish I had known that even though the school is massive, it is overwhelmingly composed of students that graduated high school in Florida.

Sally

I wish that I had known exactly what it was I wanted to do once I graduate because I would have gotten more involved much earlier.

Dorcas

What I wish I would have known about the University of Central Florida before coming here is that I should join into organizations from the first day I began because organizations are a great way to meet people also organizations give a chance to do things that you find interesting and that will be beneficial to what ever profession you are interested in.

Benjamin

That Dr. Gallagher is one of the professors here.

Ian

Before attending the University of Central Florida I wish I had known just how difficult my financial issues would become. Due to unexpected financial difficulties, my first year has been riddled with frustrations. These difficulties have greatly affected my plans at UCF, both by preventing me from living on campus, to keeping me from registering for classes required for my major. I wish I had known how difficult finances would be, so I could have planned ahead and applied for more scholarships to help me through my year at UCF.

Sylecia

How non-diversified the college of engineering was. Hardly any females.

Aileen

School is expensive get a part job freshamn year don't use all youir scholarship money in the 1st year you will need it.

Richard

The level of studying and level of interaction that this university demands from its students.

Michelle

I wish I would have known how quiet this campus is. Prior to attending Rosen I always heard of the rowdy party life at campus dorms. Rosen is nothing like that. The students here are respectful, mature and courteous. During the quiet hours, students are really quiet! Everyone holds the doors for each other and picks up their trash when needed. I did a lot of unnecessary worrying and could have saved myself some anxiety.

Ramon

The cost of tuition.

luisa

I would say I wish I would of known about the many departments they have available to aid transitions students. Specially those coming from local community colleges as myself.

Raleigh

The seriously limited amount of financial aid available for students of "dependent" status. Also, it would have been nice to have known the extent of how complicated the process of applying for financial aid really is. That way, I could have been more prepared earlier in the game. I do love this game of striving for academic excellence however. Furthermore, I qualify as a quite dedicated and very committed player. After all, "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women, merely players." :-)

Kiarra

I wish I had known that I can major in whatever I want, just as long as I fulfill the requirements of the Pre-Med/Biology program. I also wish I had known that college was a little bit more challenging than I thought, even though I went to a college preparatory school.

Katelynn

I wish I would have known about all the different housing options and the amount of scholarships that are available to UCF students. There are so many more affordable housing options both on and off campus than the one I chose and I wish I would have known about them. Also the scholarships that are available to UCF students would have been very helpful in the whole process of being able to afford college.

Devin

I wish I had known what I wanted to do for a career before I received my AA from Brevard Community College. I would have gone straight to UCF and finished my degree rather than taking a year off and then taking more business classes at BCC. I have been working in the Management field for several years now along with going to school and know now that making companies grow is where I want to be.
