University of Phoenix-Online Campus Top Questions

There is no face to face interaction with other students and your instructors. During the five weeks in a course you must complete a lot of reading, labs, and assignments since your not in a 9-12 week session. Besides that the tution is more than attending campuses. So depending on what you have going on at home such as being a single father of 3 girls while trying to work part/full on-line campus will be the way to go. However if you do have the time you should just attend a regular campus

The worst part is trying to understand certain concept, breaking it down, and solving especially coming up with words that make sense where word count is right and not off, but for the most part I enjoy the learning process and the skills as well as the knowledge . I can say that it is a positive outlook for me and I love the fact that I can also challenge myself to achieve and to accomplish my goals to obtain the degree I need to move on in the field of human services.

The worst thing about UOP is the tuition rates. The current under graduate can expect to pay $1000.00 or more for each class and a graduate student can be expected to pay no less than $1800.00 per class.

I believe the worst thing about University of Phoenix (online) is that we had so many learning team assignments. These assignments are more difficult when you are working online because you do not have any face-to-face contact with your team members. Some of the members would not contribute to the assignments; therefore, the other team members were left completing their portion at the last minute. It provided a more "hostile" learning team environment because we are all dealing with personal issues that we would not allow to interfere with our participation.

Facilitators who lack the understranding of the word facilitate.

I tend to need a little extra motivation sometimes and sometimes find it hard to start projects or assignments on my own.

I think the worst thing about my school is that it is pretty expensive to take online courses. Campus colleges are already expensive as it is but when your situation only allows for attending online classes it is frustrating that they cost even more.

I don't consider anything orse about it, it's very accomodating to me no complaints.

The worst thing about my school would be the process to get started. There are so many forms you have to fill out it gets very stressfull. There is so much information you have to give them before beginning and so many deadlines you have to make. I had filled out all my forms but we had to wait for my fafsa and other forms to be transferred to my school. Since we had to wait I missed the deadline to start school when I wanted to and now have to wait over a month to start.

The price. It is expensive and I had to take out student loans for the first time. It's a little nerve-wracking, but I feel it will be worth it in the long run.

The worst thing about my school is the maniditory use of learning teams. I understand that they use them in order to prepare you for the business world. I do not like working in teams. I am an independent learner and prefer to learn on my own time. The learning teams forces you to complete assignments based on all teammates schedules. This can be a hassle if you work in a team with conflicting schedules.

This is a private university which acts more like a business than an educational institute.

Some people seem to not work as hard as others, and should not earn an online degree. Phoenix is making improvements in this area. It creates an unfair work load for those that make a true effort in classes.

I would not say its the worst thing about the University of Phoenix, but just online schools in general. I think the worst thing about online schools is you do not get the face to face interaction and do not get to be involved in sports.

The worst thing about my school is that the professors assign team assignments and sometimes you get assigned to a team with students who do not want to contribute to the project, but expect a good grade. This is probably the case at any school, but this is the worst thing I can think of about my current school.

It's harder to get one on one help in person.

The worst thing about my school is the amount of money we pay per class. I pay over 1800.00 for just one class. It also seems that each year the tutition goes up, but the corse material stayes the same. This is my biggest complaint reguarding my experience with the University of Phoenix online.

Lack of response in learning teams in some classes.

I would have to say that the worst thing about University of Phoenix are the learning teams. You are graded based on your peers work within a team and if you get a bad team then your personal grade will suffer. You pay a lot for this school and your grades should be based soley on your own work in my opinion.

I honestly dont consider anything at my school to be the worst, everything is just the way I would want it.

The worst thing I have found about my school so far is that it is more expensive than other Universities. Believe it or not, that is the ONLY negative thing about my school.

The school is too expensive and their FA advisors not are qualified.

I do miss traditional classes, but I am a single father raising two kids on my own, so online classes are the way I have to go to finish up me degree.

Expect to work nonstop. There is no break in between but you do earn your degree quicker.

For me the only thing that I would consider a problem is that there is not a campus closer to where I am. Otherwise, I wouldn't have anything negative to say about it.

The lack of hands on training or participation is the worst part about the University of Phoenix online campus. The reason this is the worst is because it handicaps the students who will be entering a career and need to have in-person experience and hands on knowledge.

The worst thing about my school was the learning team groups. Students were assigned learning groups for each course. The students were expected to work with his or her group until the finish of the course. The down fall about this technique is that some students failed at completing his or her half of the assignment, which in tun made the other group member responsible for their portion of the assignment. Ground rules were always set out before the group member worked together, but some team members still didn't pull his or her weight when completing assignment due dates.

LEARNING TEAMS. While I understand the need for team involvement with school, because I attend the online environment of University of Phoenix this concept is LUDICROUS. It's extremely, extremely frustrating having to work on project with people you cannot talk to face to face.

Being a professional college for career oriented people, the expectation of some instructors can exceed the bandwidth of students based on their professional responsibilities.

The expense is the worst thing about my school. I feel that I enjoy my learning experience, but attending a 4 year college is expensive. I want to be well educated however the expense is difficult to manage.

I consider the lack of teacher and student interaction to be the worst thing about my school. I am a hands on learner who prefers to be taught by my intructor; however, our intructors don't teach us they focus more on asking questions. I've noticed as my classes get harder, the teachers are even less likely to "teach" us a subject. The classes are all about reading the chapters and answering the questions from the text, so it can be difficult to get the benefits that being in a classroom can give you.

It is not always possible to get immediate, direct feedback from your instructors. To ask a question, you must submit it online and wait for the instructor to respond. This means you must plan ahead each week and be prepared to not always complete the task at hand in one sitting.

Attending an online campus is different than a traditional one. It takes longer to get responses from classmates and teachers. However, there are many resources available to help with your studies, such as online tutors, access to counseling, university library, labs, and so on. To attend an online school you need to be an independent student who can complete their work without someone hanging over your shoulder.

The worst thing about school for me is not having the time to go to a classroom. I really like going to school. So I am hoping the online format will be a good substatute.

The financial advisor telling me two weeks before the next class that I have out of pocket costs. And asked how much more I need to complete my degree I get no answers. The tuituon has raised several times since I started 4 years ago. I feel it should have been locked in instead of forcing me to run out of funds before I get my degree.

I feel as thought their is nothing negataive to say about this school at this point.They are very realiable and consistant.

I think the only thing that can be challenging is not being in a classroom setting.

Honestly and truthfully I love the University of Phoenix-Online Campus. It is so convienient and it allows me to work at my own pace. I feel that I am alot more focused more so being on a campus. When you take online college you have a pace for yourself to know you have to get online and do homework. Not so much with being on campus you can easily fall off track and fail a class. There is nothing wrong with my college it is so awesome going here. It is a great experience to me in my eyes.

Group projects that I ended up doing the majority of the work on and everyone got the same credit for.

The fact that you have to participate 4 days a week in discussion questions by posting at least 2 substantial posts for each of the four days. That is not including the assignments or the reading that must get done for that week. They expect you to be a mom/dad, work full-time, and do all that?! Where is the flexibility?

The cost is the worst thing. Attending University of Phoenix - online campus is expensive but it is an investment in my future.

I chose the University of Phoenix based on the positives rather than the negatives. I am happy with the experience that I have had while attending courses at this university. I would definitely encourage new students to take advantage of the workshops available prior to beginning courses, in order to become familiar with the computer system and how it interacts with the university.

The worst thing about my school is that I do not get the opportunity to meet the professors or classmates. Even though they are available at all times and promptly respond to my questions, I miss out on that face to face interaction.

I feel the worse thing is some teachers lack feedback. I have had great teachers and some really bad ones who are there just for a check.

The financial advisors/counsellors. I have had bad experience after bad experience with them. The current one is the worst so far.
