Currently as a freshman, my opinion of Baylor University is great. I felt very welcome upon move-in, and feel generally accepted among others. Faculty are really nice, professors are great and super helpful and the overall mood on campus is simply great.

Baylor is a beautiful campus full of culture and activities. The majority of professors are very passionate about what they teach as well as understanding and kind. There majority of students are American, and Asians. It is difficult being a Hispanic at Baylor because students might look down on us. Other than that, Baylor is a pretty great institution.

I am a first-semester freshman, so the difficulty and stress of choosing a college is fresh in my mind. Even though I have only been at Baylor for a few months, I am completely confident that I am at the right place! The size and balance of the school is perfect for me. Baylor has all the resources of a large public university, so I always have access to the tools and facilities that I need for academic success. Baylor is also small enough to foster inviting and genuine community. Ultimately the community is what I love most about Baylor. There are no "unwritten" barriers between freshmen and the upperclassmen, or between those involved in Greek Life and those who are not. I am truly known, and truly know others at Baylor. I am part of a family.

The university provides a variety of unique opportunities for students. The school has wonderful professors and consistently good food. There are a variety of locations nearby in downtown Waco, but they aren't super flashy. The christian environment at Baylor helps students to feel safe and loved.

Baylor is a beautiful place. Not only is the campus beautiful, but the people and atmosphere are as well. It is rare to find someone, student or faculty, that does not care for you. The professors try their hardest to be available to their students, and it is evident that they want their students to succeed. There are so many things to get involved in. Missions and service projects are also a big deal. Baylor definitely pushes the idea of taking care of your community.

Baylor University is home. It advocates for it's students, and is always helpful when help is needed. It's a fabulous place to find a new friend and a family, and encourages all it's students to get involved on on campus activities as well as off campus. The teachers are excellent and are always available to help their students when help is needed. I 100% recommend going to Baylor and to give the campus a visit.

Baylor University is definitely a decent university, but it's not meant for everyone. It is the perfect place for those who are white, Christian and conservative, however that's not to say that people of different races, cultural backgrounds and religious viewpoints won't fit in are miserable! It is pretty racially diverse, even though the majority of the students are white and it's not as bad as people would assume in terms of inclusiveness. There are many different clubs and organizations one can get involved in, and you can find your niche very easily if you try and be friendly towards everyone around you. In terms of academics, Baylor is subpar in my opinion. I've had nothing but mostly negative experiences with my professors, many of whom never seemed to care that I was struggling in the course material. Waco is boring; being from California I often found myself depressed and feeling like I could have a much more fun and exciting experience at another school. Overall, Baylor is okay but not great-- but everyone has their own perspective!

Baylor is, in every sense, a diverse higher educational institution. Diverse in student body, athletics, academics, political views and extracurricular programs. Diverse in the sense that, unlike many specialized schools, no matter where they might begin at Baylor, if one digs deep enough, they will find a formidable depth of knowledge, of humanity and of achievement there.

I attended Baylor University my freshman year before transferring and this is what I have to say about Baylor. PROS: It's so beautiful, the campus and football stadium and everything is so beautiful. The class sizes are amazing if you would like to have small classes as a priority this is a good place. If you are religious this is a good place to come as well as you'll have a lot of people to relate to. The dining hall food is pretty good and pretty customizable to my needs. One time I messaged the dining hall on facebook about a vegetarian option and they made a whole special batch just for me! CONS: If you aren't religious/don't fit the stereotypical mold at Baylor it could be hard to find your niche and place in the university. You could either be placed in brand new dorms or ones that haven't been updated since the 1950s so register early if you want the newer dorms. There's not much to do in Waco unless you get pretty creative, almost everything closes by 8pm and after that on the weekends usually your only option is frat parties. My fair warning is if you are wary about the religious/conservative culture and aren't sure if you won't fit in or super like it, it's hard to simply overlook it at that school. If that doesn't really bother you then I'd say go ahead it's a beautiful school with great athletics (the basketball teams are amazing and the games are super fun!!) and great academics (all of my teachers were really great and went above and beyond if I reached out for help) ALSO: take advantage of the resources they do offer like free business clothes for interviews, free amazing tutoring, and some neat media programs and check outs in the library! GOOD LUCK, hope you find the right college and don't end up having to transfer like me! XOXO
