Baylor University is definitely a decent university, but it's not meant for everyone. It is the perfect place for those who are white, Christian and conservative, however that's not to say that people of different races, cultural backgrounds and religious viewpoints won't fit in are miserable! It is pretty racially diverse, even though the majority of the students are white and it's not as bad as people would assume in terms of inclusiveness. There are many different clubs and organizations one can get involved in, and you can find your niche very easily if you try and be friendly towards everyone around you. In terms of academics, Baylor is subpar in my opinion. I've had nothing but mostly negative experiences with my professors, many of whom never seemed to care that I was struggling in the course material. Waco is boring; being from California I often found myself depressed and feeling like I could have a much more fun and exciting experience at another school. Overall, Baylor is okay but not great-- but everyone has their own perspective!

Baylor is, in every sense, a diverse higher educational institution. Diverse in student body, athletics, academics, political views and extracurricular programs. Diverse in the sense that, unlike many specialized schools, no matter where they might begin at Baylor, if one digs deep enough, they will find a formidable depth of knowledge, of humanity and of achievement there.

I attended Baylor University my freshman year before transferring and this is what I have to say about Baylor. PROS: It's so beautiful, the campus and football stadium and everything is so beautiful. The class sizes are amazing if you would like to have small classes as a priority this is a good place. If you are religious this is a good place to come as well as you'll have a lot of people to relate to. The dining hall food is pretty good and pretty customizable to my needs. One time I messaged the dining hall on facebook about a vegetarian option and they made a whole special batch just for me! CONS: If you aren't religious/don't fit the stereotypical mold at Baylor it could be hard to find your niche and place in the university. You could either be placed in brand new dorms or ones that haven't been updated since the 1950s so register early if you want the newer dorms. There's not much to do in Waco unless you get pretty creative, almost everything closes by 8pm and after that on the weekends usually your only option is frat parties. My fair warning is if you are wary about the religious/conservative culture and aren't sure if you won't fit in or super like it, it's hard to simply overlook it at that school. If that doesn't really bother you then I'd say go ahead it's a beautiful school with great athletics (the basketball teams are amazing and the games are super fun!!) and great academics (all of my teachers were really great and went above and beyond if I reached out for help) ALSO: take advantage of the resources they do offer like free business clothes for interviews, free amazing tutoring, and some neat media programs and check outs in the library! GOOD LUCK, hope you find the right college and don't end up having to transfer like me! XOXO

I have a mixed salad of emotions for my opinion of Baylor. Let us start with academics. From an academic standpoint, Baylor is superb, especially if you are a pre-med or business student. The small class sizes, face to face professor communication, and abundance of major-oriented organizations and volunteer activities provide a splendid environment for any student to flourish. However, from a student body standpoint, Baylor is not the greatest. The school is by no means diverse, with a majority of the students being white. There is little intermingling of races, and most people hang out with their same culture. On top of that, many of the students cling to the stereotypical "frat or sorority" stereotypes. Coming from the incredibly diverse city of Austin, most of the student body is not my cup of tee. On a side note: due to the high poverty rate in the city of Waco, their are an exponential number of volunteering opportunities that Baylor offers to help out the community, a definite plus if your goal in life is helping others. So, to conclude, in my opinion it is only worth going to Baylor if you are a pre-med or business student due to the insane tuition and sub-par student body.

One of the things I love about Baylor University is it's Christian community. There are tons of activities where you will have friends who share the same belief as you, so you know where to turn to when you need advice. In general, Baylor is a great university and I would recommend anyone to come and attend.

Baylor is such a great school! I recommend everyone to go there or at least consider! Everyone is so friendly and the professors really make you feel like you can be successful. The campus is beautiful and not too big. All the students that attend really want to be successful and get a good education.

I like it for the most part. When looking at colleges, Baylor wasn't my first choice, and first semester I had a lot of trouble finding my place. However, it's a nice school, still a great atmosphere despite the news recently. Although sometimes if you're a person on heavy scholarship, it shows because so many people here have a lot of money.
