The campus us modern, clean, and appears to be very safe. Class sizes are small and the campus highlights a lot of activities. There are lots of places to eat on and near campus. Ms Cox, in the aviation Department, is a wealth of knowledge, warm, and very respected by the aviation students.

Jayla - 10/06/2023

My opinion of Delaware State University is it's one of the most important HBCUs that has come a long way. Delstate has been around for a long time and in that time period has received a name worthy of students from around the world to attend there. I would be more than honored to be able to be accepted into Delstate when I apply in my upcoming college months in the year of 2024.

Monet - 07/02/2023

The people that I have met and the culture surrounding being a part of an HBCU was the best part of this college experience for me. A con that I would say about this school is the financial aid process. This is probably like most schools, but it was really a lot of unnecessary run around just to get an answer to a simple question. Academics wise, there are a good amount of great teachers who care and are very helpful. There is also a small amount who are not the best. Either way, I do appreciate what I was able to get out of attending this HBCU.

William - 12/22/2022

I love this school. It is close to home and the sports aspect is very important to me. The campus is beautiful and widely spread out with a lot of things to do on campus. Not to mention the food, it is also great. I hope to come here one day and become a student-athlete like my peers.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I have learned countless lessons that I honestly feel that if I did not attend a higher institution of learning would have taken me years to learn and or experience. For instance I learned the true meaning of being independent. Like any other prospective college student this was what i was looking forward to the most being by myself with, no parental guidance and no one to dictate to me what it is I can and cannot do. However what I didn’t realize was that once I step on that campus I am officially on your own and I am now the dictator of my future that’s when it all becomes scary and surprisingly is when you will learn just what it is you want and need to do with your life. See while hear I was force to accept the fact that my parents could no longer hold my hand but, they could only assist from a far. However after about my first semester after all the tears were shed I knew how to do things on my own and I had a keen sense of who I was and destined to be.

I think the best and worst thing is that the school has so much history. This is good because you can experience the history. This is bad because there has not been much renovation to the buildings. I feel like the school may be small but it is the perfect size for me. I think the one thing I hate about the school is that admissions and student accounts give you such a hassle around the purge dates, they are never helpful.
