The University of Oregon is an amazing institution. From the day I was accepted, the school and the surrounding community have welcomed me with open arms. The campus prides itself on its commitment to engaging each student and providing opportunities for learning, exploration, and growth, along with being committed to helping each student pursue their academic interests and provide support where needed. The U of O is an amazing place to get a college education.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The University of Oregon is really the only school I want to attend in Oregon! It has a beautiful campus, convenient location (so many things to do and places to eat at!), and there are resources for pretty much everything. Teachers are generally open to questions and discussion, and advisers are ready to meet up and discuss whatever confusion you need clearing up. If you're looking for fun, there are plenty of fraternities and sororities, and parties get wild on weekends, but non-partiers can keep their peace as well.

I love the University of Oregon. They have made me feel safe and welcome, and opened my eyes to the many opportunities the community provides. All of the students and faculty are friendly and willing to spend time getting to know and help the people around them. Even the administration is very accessible. I enjoy every minute I am at the University of Oregon.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The UofO is a huge school, so it's quite dependant on which program you choose. I'm a part of the College of Design school as a product design major and I'm loving it. I was an art major for 2 quarters (acceptance is once a year) and wasn't jazzed, but I was still able to work toward a B.S. in product design. Product design at the school rides a nice line between the A type personality of the architecture students and the slacking ambiguous art students. I don't see how going to UofO, or any 4 year university for that matter, would be a good idea unless you have a clear sense of where you want to go with a particular major. If you don't have a solid plan and a will to strive for it don't go here. You'll end up getting way off track and will find it very difficult to get back on track.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The University of Oregon is overall an amazing school with a diverse student population, well-qualified staff and faculty members, and wonderful services and facilities. Although, like other colleges, it is not perfect in its student life or academics, it is very much a worthwhile place to pursue an education.

Not the best school for my particular major but I've found a community through extracurricular activities of people who are interested in the same career. Through this community everyone is active and wants to learn together. There are many great professors and the campus is fantastic. Eugene is a great town to be with lots of cool local bussinesses. Sometimes the classes will be small and fill up quick so registering can be a hassle but no matter what classes you end up with you'll end up enjoying at least one of them and finding a few friends.

It is a wonderful school. It has become a second home to me. There are endless possibilities which are very important to me. The honors dorm is a little on the pricey side but it is known to have the best facilities, plus I get to be with fellow honor students.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I didn't like it there, the culture is very much centered on greek life, football, and partying. Students are very clique-y, and engage in near-constant binge drinking. I only attended the school for the psychology program, which is rated very highly. However, I found that my professors, fellow students, and the general function of the classroom was typically far less educational and informative than the community college I had previously attended.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I double majored in Biology and Human Physiology (pre-med) and thoroughly enjoyed the majority of my classes. U of O is a fairly large campus but most upper division classes are more intimate with a lot of 1 on 1 time with your professors and peers. The area is beautiful and the rec center is amazing. There si a ton of school pride at U of O, especially for our D1 sports teams. The entire city of Eugene wears green and yellow on game day. There is a lot of fun night life including concerts, plays, campus bars, etc. The town is pretty hippy-dippy and artsy and the people are fairly open minded and eco-conscious. I loved this school and highly recommend it (just make sure you get some rain boots and a nice waterproof jacket for the rainy winter months!)
