Coming from California, the U of O was a lot different that what I had been used to. I got used to the weather pretty quickly, it gets very cold in winter and rains very frequently, but this makes student appreciate the sunny days! I am in a sorority but I would definitely not say that greek life is a must on this campus. Eugene as a city is full of homeless people and tweaks, so don't walk around alone late at night. The education here is amazing, and great food both on and off campus.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I have some problems with the UO, but I do like the university. I'm in the architecture program and I feel like I am receiving a great education. I adore my professors and classes and I look forward to class every day. While the education is great, I can't say the same about other parts of the UO. I have some complaints about the cleanliness, atmosphere, and pricing. The dorms are gross on campus. The janitors work hard to clean up the messes students leave for them, which shows more about the characters of people attending the university than the quality of janitors. The bathrooms are nasty and you MUST wear flip flops in the shower. Weed is a big problem in my hall and everything smells like skunk. The atmosphere can be a bit off-putting on campus too. It's a very progressive campus, often too progressive, making things uncomfortable and awkward for students. Lastly, the UO is expensive. It's a great education, but I don't need to be sitting on yellow Farrier leather in the Jaqua academic center to learn. Frivolous spending makes me have a bad opinion of the UO.

It's a great school, especially if one wants to have the experience of college life. There is always an opportunity to join different groups on campus and you will find friends. Life here is fun. The first time you set foot on campus or apply you are immediately put into situations where you have the chance to meet other students and the faculty. They do their best to get you involved. Also we're pretty well known

I just finished my first quarter at the U of O, and I could not be happier with my decision to attend this university. There has not been one moment where I have found myself feeling lonely, bored, or in an unfamiliar area. Since day one I have felt at home and completely satisfied with my academics and friendships.

In general, University of Oregon is a great school. Everyone is very open and accepting. I love the classes offered, and professors are always willing to get to know students and talk to them. My main issue with the University is the funding aspect. So much money goes toward athletics, and it feels like other programs are put on the backburner. It feels like the president doesn't always listen to what the students have to say.

I love it, but find that PC (politically correct) culture is incredibly prevalent on campus -- often to a point that is counter productive. It doesn't ruin my college experience but is a huge part of the university that I don't agree with. Other than this, academics are rigorous and if you are admitted to a specialized school (particularly the SOJC or College of Business) you are given ample connections that can lead to a fulfilling future post graduation.

The University of Oregon has a beautiful and open campus. The people are friendly and creative, in addition the classes are wonderful. I especially like the dorms and helpful RAs. I have no complaints about my University and would recommend it to others.

The university of Oregon is a great school to attend, there is never a dull moment and there is always something to do no matter what kinds of things you are into. The university of Oregon is also very into inclusiveness, making sure there are gender neutral bathrooms and making safe spaces for those who need it, The facilities are also top of the line. The only downside to the university of Oregon, is one how semi far things are from campus if you don't have a car, but there is always the EMX. Also the diversity on campus is extremely lacking there are a lot of white people on campus.

I had a wonderful experience at University of Oregon. It was usually no problem to get into the classes needed and the advisers are very helpful. The professors are very engaged and available. There are many different libraries around campus with excellent study spots and helpful assistants. Overall it's a very beautiful campus with many unique buildings and works of art surrounded by old trees and flower beds. The food on campus is pretty amazing in flavor and variety. I came from out of state and had no idea how many things could be composted or recycled, you will learn very quickly. The newer dorms are very nice but I would avoid the old ones. It is a very diverse population with a large international student ratio and professors from all over the world. This was one of the top selling points for me. Also everyone is very friendly with a strong sense of community. There's always something going on around campus. Whether you're active or chill you'll find your people.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

University of Oregon is a great school, but there are some of the things freshman should know. When you have to go to orientation (introducktion) go to the earliest one that you can. This way you can get some of your gen-ed things taken care of early. U of O faculty is usually very nice to students, the farther down the ladder you get. Those who work as janitors or or housing services are by far the nicest people. I have had difficulty speaking with people higher up, as I try to explain certain circumstances to them. It feels like U of O is all about the money. That is my biggest complaint. They don't try to help you, discuss options or any of that. You pay what you're supposed to pay and that's that. It's a great school, but I wish I didn't feel like they only want me here for the $26,000.
