UTK is a great school because of its resources and the many options that it provides for students. However, it is still trying to move past its homophobic environment. There are people who are always ready to listen to you and counselors who are always available to listen to you. The career development and student success centers help students find work-studies, free tutors, and help you find work during and after your time at UTK. The many programs and internships available are the reason why it is such a great place for opportunity.

Overall, it is a great place to go to school. I am a transfer student to the university, and felt very at home upon arriving to the school. Transition is never easy, but with all the activities, accommodations, and opportunities, the transition was actually somewhat exciting.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I am a sophomore at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I love this school, and so will many others. Not only do we have an amazing faculty, but also students who want to succeed. With an SEC school, it can be easy to assume kids are all going to care about football and nothing else, but students generally care about their education and experiences just as much as professors!

The University of Tennessee is a great school. The academic facilities are great. The professors are usually accessible and knowledgeable. There are lots of ways to get involved with things on campus even if you are not in a sorority or fraternity. I am confident that I am receiving a quality education.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville is a good college with a lot of opportunities. However, the services and facilities provided are not worth the $31,000 you have to pay as a student for a year. The area surrounding the university is nice especially downtown but the fort is an area to avoid unless you are with a group. There is also a lot of construction going on that does not seem to benefit the student body as a whole such as the construction on roads and finding a parking space for both commuters and non-commuters is almost impossible during the week.

I love it here at UT. The vibe is usually very friendly and casual. There is very strong school pride and culture. Because it's a huge school, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in any activity you want. Also, it is very easy to make friends because there are so many different kinds of people here that you're bound to find someone who has the same interests/values as you.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is a great school to graduate from. You gain knowledge and lots of job opportunities. However the school is not the easiest. You may take a few steps back, but it’s just helping you for your big leap. You have to have a strong mindset and willingness to successful attend and graduate from UT Knox.

I chose UT to attend next fall mainly because of who will be my peers and support system. It passes as a great school but why I chose it over other schools is to be a part of the college ministry my church sponsors in Knoxville. There are concerns I have that my classes will be taught by teaching assistants

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The University of Tennessee of Knoxville is a well rounded school that caters to the academically driven, the people who live for game days, and the individuals who thrive in the social environment of greek life. It fosters a community of people who you will stay in touch with for the rest of your life. It also prepares you for life after college and your vocation or your goal of higher education.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

My overall opinion is that we have a beautiful campus, and good professors, but it is easy to feel unimportant at a school this big. It occasionally feels like my opinions don't matter at all. I do like the sports culture though. Neyland Stadium is the best.
