The University of Tennessee-Knoxville is a good college with a lot of opportunities. However, the services and facilities provided are not worth the $31,000 you have to pay as a student for a year. The area surrounding the university is nice especially downtown but the fort is an area to avoid unless you are with a group. There is also a lot of construction going on that does not seem to benefit the student body as a whole such as the construction on roads and finding a parking space for both commuters and non-commuters is almost impossible during the week.

I love it here at UT. The vibe is usually very friendly and casual. There is very strong school pride and culture. Because it's a huge school, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in any activity you want. Also, it is very easy to make friends because there are so many different kinds of people here that you're bound to find someone who has the same interests/values as you.

It is a great school to graduate from. You gain knowledge and lots of job opportunities. However the school is not the easiest. You may take a few steps back, but it’s just helping you for your big leap. You have to have a strong mindset and willingness to successful attend and graduate from UT Knox.

I chose UT to attend next fall mainly because of who will be my peers and support system. It passes as a great school but why I chose it over other schools is to be a part of the college ministry my church sponsors in Knoxville. There are concerns I have that my classes will be taught by teaching assistants

The University of Tennessee of Knoxville is a well rounded school that caters to the academically driven, the people who live for game days, and the individuals who thrive in the social environment of greek life. It fosters a community of people who you will stay in touch with for the rest of your life. It also prepares you for life after college and your vocation or your goal of higher education.

My overall opinion is that we have a beautiful campus, and good professors, but it is easy to feel unimportant at a school this big. It occasionally feels like my opinions don't matter at all. I do like the sports culture though. Neyland Stadium is the best.

I am eager to peruse an education at UTK in the area of engineering. The Tickle College is Engineering at UTK sets the bar high. I like the class sizes for the most part but when they are rally large, we can have mini group lectures to ensure that we are all grasping the concepts. Safety is pretty good and I feel safe.

If you are interested in a SEC school with lots of school spirit and plenty of activities to get involved in then this is the school for you. The University of Tennessee Knoxville is a beautiful campus that is only in the midst of getting even more beautiful. With the new student union about to open up and the new dorms that are being planned to be built, the school is about to get even bigger and more beautiful. There are plenty of clubs and activities for you to get involved in (including Greek life!), and the football season is to die for. The students bleed orange and white. Go Vols!

UTK is an interesting school. It's portrayed as the classic University experience, especially because it is one of the biggest, most well known Universities in the state of Tennessee. If you're searching for the classic University experience, look no further. Up here we love our football and wearing that amazingly horrible bright orange in support. The campus is quite large and very amazing. There is the old part of campus, The Hill, which is beautiful and provides the true "wow, I'm a college student" feeling and then there are the new parts of campus that are insanely beautiful! If you're interested in Greek life we have plenty of options for you! However, if you're searching for more than the classic experience of football, Greek life, and, let's face it, partying a lot UTK is also the place for you! The Volunteer experience is so much more than just football and parties, it's a place where the future leaders and great minds come to meet. If you're interested in student government, we have it! If you're looking for a group to call your family, oh my goodness we have it! There are so many amazing organizations and clubs to join. I personally was so frightened of not finding a place to fit in, and within the first semester I found it! I play for the women's rugby team, I have job that's located on campus, and I have amazing friends. All in all, whatever you're searching for, I can almost guarantee you have a home up here on Rocky Top.

The University of Tennessee is not only a fresh start for me, but it is a safe place. Ever since I was a kid I have been going to UTK for events and games with my family. Each visit is unique and never like the last. The constant theme people share is their love for the big orange country. Coming from out of state, a big plus for me is that I don’t know anyone there. My whole life has been in a small suburb just outside of Louisville, Kentucky where everyone knows everyone. Being able to go away for a weekend is a wonderful escape. Walking through stores like VolShop I have held pleasant conversations with complete strangers, a rare occurrence for a Louisvillian. Granted I have yet to take classes, I have had the pleasure of meeting faculty and staff. The Dean of Communications (Michael Wirth), Head of Undergraduate of Admissions (D’Aloisio Fabrizio), and Clayton Alexander (Associate Director, Regional Freshman Recruitment). My overall opinion of The University of Tennessee is that it is a campus committed to helping students find their best version of themselves. They want each day to be different and special for every individual on campus. No matter what time of day it is I have always felt safe. There are light posts following sidewalks to school buildings and dorms, as well as safety posts if there is any cumbersome situation. The life of campus is held by the students, we decide what situations and people to associate ourselves with and every action has a reaction to it. At the end of the day, not every student attending this university would agree with my opinion. Some might not like campus life or classes. I recognize that since I have yet to attend in the fall, my opinion could change as well. But I am open minded to keeping a positive outlook on my college choice.
