What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Ryan

While I can't complain very much about UCF, the worst thing about the school would probably be the number of students attending. Especially if you've never lived in a very urban area, you could feel like you're a nobody in a school with 56,000 students. I do enjoy being surrounded with thousands of my peers, however I do see how one could feel lost in a school with so many people, and I have some friends who feel this way.

Susan

Parking. My #1 problem on campus is finding a parking place. With the expense of $40+ for the semester permit I expected to have a place to park for class. This problem is usually only days; nights are fine because students are allowed to parking in staff lots then. I honestly cannot think of anything else I don't like about UCF. Specific to COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS for social work degree are very few undergraduate courses online, which is more difficult to manage.

Karla

I got used to going to class two days a week. I am not happy about the fact that most of my science classes here are only available on the three-day schedule. Some scheduling conflicts forces me to go to school five days a week.

Alexandra

There aren't a lot of clubs offered towards more creative outlets, like creative writing, reading, watching movies. The school is majorly focused on engineering and medical fields. I was shocked when I found out that the campus doesn't even have a book club, and the film club it sponsors is mainly for directors, producers, and actors. If you're a creative person, like me, it was hard to get involved on campus and therefore meet new people (which is a major thing for incoming freshmen).

Andrell

The worst thing about my school is that there aren't a lot of minorities there. Sometimes it gets really hard to try to make friends when everyone around you doesn't look like you. Of course you'd expect some differences, but there's no blend. It's like I feel alone sometimes. I know others feel that same way. We only take up 10{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of 60,000 people. That's not a lot at all. I wish I could just see more black faces.

Chelsea

I think the worst thing i've found about my school is just the occasional problems with all the technology that is surrounding the school. There isn't reall enything major that I don't like about the school.

Melanie

The worst thing about University of Central Florida is the amount of construction that constantly takes place. I believe this is a big problem for the university because as they complete construction on future classrooms, the problem of overcrowded classrooms, lack of parking, and lack of student housing emerges. Though upper-level classes tend to be smaller, general education classes remain some of the largest, peaking at 300 students per classroom.

Telena

No University is perfect. I would honestly say that parking it my ultimate problem at UCF. Because we are the third largest University in the nation, that explains why parking is so limited. In order to get to class on time, you must leave at least an hour before class starts in order to find a parking spot. At times, students can be late to class. With the constant construction of new buildings being built, hopefully more parking garages are in the process of being developed as well.

Malomo

i dont like the fact that the food is so expensive. recieving the education is expensive already, so i dont see why they have the food so expensive that some of the students can't afford to buy lunch.

Ji

The worst thing at the University of Central Florida would be the lack of parking spaces for the students paying for their decals. Seems as though the amount of decals sold from the Parking Services do not balance out the number of parking spaces provided for the students.

Justine

I think the worst thing about my school is that it is so big; although the size of the student body provides several opportunities, at times it is very easy to feel lost in the crowd. Since it is so big, it is easy to go unnoticed. I know of several people who feel alone despite all of the people that surround them, because it is hard to make friends during classes where you need to focus.

Preston

The worste part about the University of Central Florida is class sizes. It is sometimes hard to hear or see the teacher.

Christina

UCF is a thriving institution. Though I encourage you to see the potential and all that we have accomplished in a fraction of the time compared to other universities in the state, other's look down on us for being a young institution. That attitude has brought student morale down in the past. Occasionally, the sentiment still lingers. Fortunately, this year I have seen a change in the UCF student attitude. In sum, I feel that the worst thing about UCF is that other's try to discredit what we have accomplished, when in fact work hard and have persevered.

Jaquelyne

The price for out of state tuition and housing are very high; the difference between in-state and out of state tuition is almost

Allison

The parking! There is limited parking on main campus and on Rosen. On main campus they are building another parking garage, but a year later it is still not complete. And Rosen there really is not a way to expand parking, so students are forced to park across the street at the publix parking lot.

Thomas

I would say the worst thing is the relative quality of most of the books used on campus in comparison with their price.

James

I would say the worst thing is the traffic surrounding the campus. The campus itself is beautiful but the traffic around campus is horrific.

Anthony

There isn't enough parking. The school is ranked 3rd in the nation in size and parking causes you to miss alot of class time. It can be very frustrating at times.

Alexis

The University of Central Florida is very large. The have the capability of only supplying dorms to the freshman; after freshman year only 15{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the dorms are available to Sophmore - Seniors. Although there is a lot of appartment living available around the campus, I would prefer to remain on campus, thus I will be placing my name in the raffle.

Madalyn

The worst thing about my school would have to be the food/dining hall. I rarely find food I like there and living in a dorm it is hard to "cook" for myself. If I could improve the food, I would change the staff because they often cook things relative to their native country or culture and there is rarely variety. Other than that, I love UCF!

Paige

The worst thing about my school, is the fact that they have the reputation of accepting anyone who applies there. It seems like many people don't take us seriously because it's "easy to get in to". I think they should maybe mak.e their application process a little bit harder, and then students might take us more seriously.

Amanda

The thing I find myself most dissatified with at the University of Central Florida would be that with such a large number of students they have to divide the different tasks into a large number of offices around campuses. This does break up congestion and allow a student to actually be helped in a specific office however it also makes life a little more difficult. To go to each office to solve things like residency, financial aid, and regestration can be a bit of a hassel.

Gary

The worst thing i hate about this school is that you can easily get lost becasue the campus is huge, so its good to have someone who knows where there going or at the most carry a map.

Jennifer

I think the size of my school is a little bit overwhelming, but th ere are a lot of student organizations that make you feel at home.

Erin

It's a very large campus, which is good for exercise but a pain if you have to get to a class in 5 minutes. The worst thing about UCF is the parking situation. There are way too many students and not enough parking. It makes it really hard to find a spot and I have spent 45 minutes looking for a parking spot before.

Rachel

Nothing.

Randi

Even though UCF is a large school with so many graduates working around the country I feel that there is a lack of support from the local community. When I drive around the city I see so many UCF license plates and I meet so many alumni; however, the local community does not show enough support for UCF. The worst thing about UCF does not involve UCF just those in the community that do not show their support.

Sarah

The worst thing is the limited food selections for those who have dietary needs.

Stephanie

I was a transfer student and during orinetation they never gave us a tour around campus. I felt like they really didn't care about transfer students. All they did was put us in our colleges, told us how to resister for class and then told us to leave.

Maria

If I had to pick the worst thing about this school it would only be the parking becaause we have so many students it is always hardto find a parking spot.

Jasmine

EXPENSIVE! Overall ok

Amanda

The worst thing about UCF is the level of difficulty involved in finding classes that can fit any schedule. By the time you get to your Junior year, only a few days or times are offered for the necessary classes. It is difficult to find evening classes, and they meet maximum capicity quickly when they are offered. If you work full time you are usually left only with the option of online classes. For those of us who support ourselves and our families, a better variety of classes days and times would make a world of difference.

Elizabeth

The worst thing about our school is the amount of study abroad programs available through UCF. I feel like other Florida schools have a much greater selection than we do.

Betsy

The worst thing about my school would be its young age. Certainly not a concerning factor for a student, but it does cause other schools with more "tradition" to frown upon us. We are just starting to make traditions, and we'll be up with the rest of them soon enough.

Stephanie

The school has over 50,00 students which can be a good or bad thing. Some students can feel lost while others can have the chance to explore a bunch of different opportunities because there is such a diverse student population.

Alyssa

Since there are so many people attending the university parking becomes a huge issue. So I would have to consider the lack of general student parking the worst thing about my school. I have in the past driven around in my car for a whole hour just looking for a place to park. That was no fun at all.

Jenna

The worst thing about UCF? Well I honestly can't think of any! From the constant Florida sun to the exciting college atmosphere, every day at UCF is a beautiful one! One thing I have learned thus far from being a student at UCF, is that there is never a dull day on campus.

Jason

Our school is new, so there are not as many older and loyal alumni like a UF or Texas. The alumni don't raise their children to be UCF fans at heart because our school is not quite that old. Most die hard UCF fans are people of my age (22)

Brittany

The worst thing about this school is the parking. It takes a very long time to get a parking spot, they need to extend they're parking lot.

Sean

With 53,000 students living in a confined area, campus traffic and parking can be back breaking.

Stephen

UCF is the 2nd largest undergraduate school in the country. Unfortunately due to this, PARKING is atrocious! One of our many nicknames for the college is "U"nder "C"onstruction "F"orever. While there is much growth and new parking garages erected annually, finding a space is extremely difficult :(

Amanda

The class sizes at UCF are one of the worst aspects of attending the university. The professors, most of them, are wonderful and passionate about the subjects they teach however, it is difficult to learn the material when the class sizes are so huge.

Bianca

It's not close enought to home. I do miss some family and friends and it would be nice to not pay for room and board while enjoying my moms cooking.

Samantha

Three words - lack of parking. UCF has so many students, but clearly not enough parking spaces. If you want to get one, come to campus half an hour to forty-five minutes before your class starts, and good luck.

Tyler

The wost thing about the University of Central Florida is how difficult it is to register for your desired classes. Since it is so over populated, the classes fill up quickly and cannot hold the amount of students that are willing to take the class, which can add a couple semesters to a persons college career.

Natasha

The worst thing at my school is the separation of Sorority/Fraternity students and non Sorority/Fraternity students. There may be an air of arrogance in the Sororities and Fraternities, especially regarding those who live in homes on campus. Students should not feel excluded from the college experience if they chose to not pay to be in an organization such as a Frat or Sorority. However, I believe that this happens at every college and it is completely normal. It's kind of like saying that your school has bad parking- it's that way everywhere.

Alan

The worst thing about UCF is that many things are not explained to the students. There are over 48,000 undergraduates and many do not understand concepts such as registration or even checking grades online. The lack of communication from administration to students is very noticeable. I sometimes find myself confused around the time of enrollment and finals because the information is so difficult to obtain. I believe that many problems students encounter are caused by this issue. The school expects everyone to have a pre-existing knowledge of procedure without actually explaining it.

Philadelphia

Parking! There is only one spot to every 5 students and one to every 3 professors!

Kayla

I can really say there is a 'worst' thing, except to say that the BFA re

Kristina

The worst thing about my university is probably the parking situation. Being the second largest universtiy in the nation, in terms of enrollment, really take a toll on the availability of parking. You have to arrive early to obtain a spot or utilize public transportation.
