I personally love South Alabama. The class room sizes aren’t too big so you’re able to build that relationship with your professor and get the help that you want. The biology department is great and the biology advisor does everything he can possibly do to help you succeed. There are lots of activities that get students involved and football games are a blast. The campus also itself is gorgeous!
The greatest school ever.
South Alabama is a very good school for academics and during the pandemic. They have handled the pandemic well and enforce wearing masks around campus. Online classes are very effective and make it easier on the students. The teachers are always thinking of the students.
South is a great school! This school has a wonderful learning environment and the staff and faculty really want you to succeed. The campus is very beautiful and there are a multitude of activities available for you to get involved in. South is very student oriented and values the students opinions, they are always looking for ways to improve.

The joy of diversity from all the different people I would meet not only from the US but from all the different countries from around the globe.
The administration at this school is very old school and, quite frankly, unconcerned with the best interests of the student body. They are not open to student suggestions; they are also not very accomodating to non-traditional students.
My classmates are diverse, communicative, and friendly.
A person who should not attend this school is someone who does not like different cultures. At the college I attend there are a wide variety of people with different cultured backgrounds. There are so many different clubs and organizations for the different types of cultures. Some people that attend this college come from various countries around the world. This college has a great deal of respect for the different cultures people are brought up with. The fact that this college has so many cultures makes it unique.
the school has a lot of school spirit. And i think most universities need that
There are a few large lecture hall classes, with about 100 students, but most classes have about 30 students. The upper level classes tend to be smaller classes. This makes it easy to get to know your professor, because he/she does not teach 500 students per semester. I often go to my professor during office hours and talk about facts in or related to the course that catch my interest. This gives endless opportunity to improve oneself professionally. One of the toughest classes I've ever taken was Organic Chemistry. The professor, Dr. Rogers, was one of the best I've had yet. A year after finishing the course, I still drop by his office from time to time to chat.
This school has a large ammount of degrees / programs availible, and from what I know they are all acredited and have a good reputation within the community as far as quality of education is concerned. In adddition, the tuition for the University of South Alabama, fees, and other associated costs is very cheap when compaired to many other high level four year colleges.
Medical and Engineering departments and Sports teams.
If interested in attending IU, one must be willing to work and work hard.
That my college has an excellent medical program and how i hope to be accepted into medical school. The rate that the university is growing is another factor to be bragged on.
University of South Alabama is the most amazing place to step into when you graduate high school, where you know you will be challenged on a high level of academics.
One of the best things to get involved with is Greek life. There are organizations for both men and women, and they are very involved on campus. I am a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon at South, so I speak from experience when I say that it is a great idea to go Greek. We encourage good academics, we do community service, and we are leaders on campus. This is how I met all of my friends and continue to meet new friends every day.
Many people feel their is minimal involvolvement in community service, organizations, etcetera (besides sports) on our campus. In actuality, there are many chances to get involved from donating books to illiterate children to chances talent shows, poetry readings, and bake sales to fund student organizations. Of course there are athletic events to look foward to, but there is so much more.
We have a new football and new marching band in the works for next fall! We are one of only two colleges with College of Medicine in the state of Alabama! We have a top five Nursing program in the nation! We are growing in numbers and size! Come by for a campus tour! Just call 251-460-6141
Every organisation has its flaws, University of South Alabama has theirs but it not frustrating, They improving and that's what matters .
None of the stereotypes are near accurate! Everyone gets along
Sports is very big at USA. The campus takes much pride in their football team that was undefeated for the first two years of their existance. About 15 to 20,000 people usually show up for home games. The basketball games are also very popular at USA. Soccer is not too popular nor baseball. However, the USA students are very supportive of their sports teams. Many people show up for games.
At first, I never really considered the University of South Alabama, simply because it was in the town I grew up in. I wanted to get away from Mobile, and at the time I started seriously thinking about college, USA didn't have a marching band. When USA got a football team and marching band, I considered it a backup plan. A couple high school wrecks and problems like overdrawing my bank account made me realize I probably wouldn't survive without my mom. I ended up choosing USA because of proximity to my mom, marching band, and it was also my cheapest option.
My classes are all pretty involved. Everyone speaks their mind and asks questions. I love that because sometimes others will ask a question I hadn't thought about.
