I love the University of New Hampshire. The campus is beautiful and well taken care of, and the facilities are kept up to date. There are lots of majors to choose from and you are guaranteed to find good professors in your area of study. There are also many different student led organizations that you can join.

Though I'm only a freshman, I've already seen much of what the University has to offer, and both my parents and I are impressed. I've loved every class I've taken, and the professors are really great. They are very willing to help us as students and make sure we get the best education possible. The people I've met are very nice, and I've made a lot of friends in a very short amount of time. These friends are very caring and are willing to have fun but recognize the balance between going out and school work. There is always stuff going on around campus, including concerts, an on-campus movie theatre, and many clubs and organizations to join.

Overall, the University of New Hampshire is a very well rounded school. The different aspects such as food, social life, academics and the ties that are made with professors all represent a good school. I have not been here for very long and I already feel like I have connections with my professors that are meaningful and resourceful. This school does a very good job of letting all students whether they are new or returning that they matter. One thing I noticed about UNH immediately is that they have plenty of resources, clubs and advisors that are there to make sure every student is coping well.

The University of New Hampshire has been a great experience so far, and the best place I could imagine spending my freshman year. They made the transition extremely easy and helped us start to get involved in extracurriculars that our school offers. There is not much to do outside of the campus which makes it feel like you are trapped inside some days. Professors are usually around to answer questions and help with your needs. Partying usually goes on Thursday through Saturday nights which make it easier to stay inside and stick to the books during the week.

The University of New Hampshire is so much more than I expected. I'm from Maine, where I attended a small, private school. Now I'm at a large public university. I quickly learned that getting involved is fun and easy, the teachers are always available and truly seek what is best for their students, and the campus itself is beautiful, with brick buildings and sitting on what used to be agricultural land. The school is expensive, especially for an out of state student like myself, but it is worth it with the high quality professors and amazing opportunities for extracurricular activities, quality facilities, great social environment, and intramural sports! I'm glad I picked UNH.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Overall, I think the University of New Hampshire is a good school. Most people on campus are very friendly and campus is extremely safe. The classes are for the most part interesting and well structured and the teachers are nice and helpful. Some dorms are better than others, but none of them are really bad. The dining halls are all nice and the food is decent. There is a lot of options. There isn't much around in the close vicinity of the main campus. Downtown Durham is mostly food places with a few shops. Taking the buses to Portsmouth or Dover gives you more options for entertainment, although sometimes waiting for buses is a pain. Campus is pretty big, but you don't mind walking around it as much as you might think, even in the winter. The Hamilton Recreation Center is great. Even for people who aren't extremely fit, it's not awkward to work out there like it sometimes is at other gyms. The group exercise classes are great, I really enjoy them.

I couldn't picture myself at any other university than UNH. At first, it was so close to home that I didn't think I would want to go. I wanted to go out of state, until I attended the accepted students day. That day changed it all for me, it taught me that college life is completely separate from high school, even if it seems like your whole high school is going there. I've met incredible students, professors, and people in general from being at University of New Hampshire.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is a beautiful campus, I feel safe. Minus the "Killer Clowns", I usually feel safe. It is definitely a party school though, so if you don't drink, you'll be the odd one out. There are a bunch of clubs to join though that are fun. I have joined the pre-vet club, the horsemens club and more recently, the service fraternity , APO. The food is really good-at the beginning of the year the chef's make an effort to have variety in their dishes. There are always multiple station with healthy options and creative twists to try. There is an allergy free station, a vegan and gluten-free station for people who are on special diets. Union Court is a cafeteria style area where you can get delicious food on the go. I am looking forward to having my own kitchen though next year because cafeteria food gets old after a few years no matter how good it is. I was in the honors dorm freshman year. I lucked out and got a good roommate. Our room was flooded for a week because a sprinkler went off, but we were accommodated in a hotel for one night which was nice-but we were out of our room for a week which was a drag. It depends which dorm you end up with, some are older-the newer ones are beautiful. The honors program is unorganized and has so many requirements in addition to the main university's requirements which is a little annoying. I have so many requirements for my major and then there are multiple discovery classes so that I have very little time for classes that I really want to take that are in the animal sciences major. I have been disappointed with what I feel was a misrepresentation of what the pre-vet major would be like. In the pre-vet presentation we were given, the professor talked about the hands on experience we would be able to get starting in freshman year-but we actually don't have the opportunity for experience with animals until junior and senior year. It doesn't make sense to me how much hands on experience the vet tech students get, but they don't offer this same opportunity to the pre-vet majors. Overall, I really like UNH. I volunteer at some of the honors luncheons and think that the school has good programs and so many opportunities for students. They have a lot of really good research opportunities for the sciences. I like my professors. I just wish there were more opportunities for hands on learning or internships. It is also harder to fit in if you're not into partying, but I have a good roommate and have made friends. I'm content at UNH. I think the next two years will be even better.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I'm in one of the worst dorms (Hubbard), which is the Honors dorm, which is disappointing. The food seems to have gotten worse this semester, not a lot of flavor, but decent amount of options. There are loads of extracurricular activities to participate in and a good social scene. The classes aren't very hard though.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I absolutely love it! I don't think I would be happy anywhere else. I love the campus, I love the people, I love the location. Being at this school is the best thing that has happened to me. All of the things I complain about my school are just because I'm a lazy college student, but I wouldn't want anything to change.
