I love Wayne State University! I chose this college because of its location in the City of Detroit, networking opportunities, affordability, scholarships, and how close it is to home. I love all of my major related classes. Most professors really care for their students and value the learning of their students more than giving them a thousand assignments. Wayne is easily one of the most diverse and unique colleges in Michigan. There are plenty of student orgs that can fit any of your interests and the majority of the student body tends to be very nice and accepting.
I love it! I honestly wouldn't have chosen to go anywhere else. I feel like our campus is a part of really diverse part of Michigan, and I really appreciate the diversity that the campus offers. I haven't had any sort of bad experiences at all, and I really would recommend WSU.
Wayne State University is an institution that, by far, excels in the types of professors you can encounter and the respective classes that you can attend. Furthermore, there are plenty of student organizations or clubs to choose from while on campus as well as many great coffee shops and restaurants to find around campus. However, the campus itself needs to improve on a large number of fronts, including the age of its campus facilities as well as the availability and state of off-campus housing as the biggest drawbacks to choosing Wayne State.
I had the worse experience at this school and this was before I even attended classes. The financial aid office is the pits! They refused to sign a form I need in order to receive finical aid and kept insisting my undergrad school (which I graduated from and no longer attend) had to fill it out. I went back and forth with them FOR A YEAR until I finally said forget it. Then they decided to fill out the school portion of the required form. The aid would have covered the semester I attended but since they played back and forth it wasn't covered under what I eventually received. I couldn't afford the tuition and they put me in collections. This experience has made me regret my decision to ever go here and I would not recommend this university at all.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Wayne State University is 81%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Every day that you walk through life as if you can hit rewind at any moment, realize that the rewind button you are counting on to be there is being phased out as we speak. That's right, everything you're doing is going on film, and that film is going to be your life. Make each day worthy of being recorded and watched by you one last time with no editing. Whatever happened in the past all happened for a reason. The important thing is to make those experiences, positive or negative, a strictly positive influence on what you do now. And, even more important, don't just know what you need to be doing, do it! Start acting on what you have learned from your life. I was once a high school student with a GPA below 1.5 or something tragically close. That ended with my getting a GED after a few years of not attending school whatsoever. And it had nothing to do with my learning abilities. But once I realized what I wanted to do with my life, I was able to start college with a whole new attitude and believe me, it?s working!
Classmates are very helpful.
I wish I had known how expensive Wayne State education really is.
Diversity
School is to big.
Waybe State Unviersity is a very large school and most of the professors do not care if you pass or fail.
People who are looking to spend their college years partying definitely should not attend this school. If a student isn't motivated to do their best work, they shouldn't attend this university
I believe that there is a place for every kind of student. It is an excellent place to learn a number of different specialties.
Getting to class on time might cuase a little frustarating, but other then that its all easy going.
My school is the best known Medical School in Michigan. Also my school Has a diverse community of students, which allows for a broader understanding of other ethnic backgrounds and traditions.
Wayne State University is best known for its expertise in and encouraging research. It is one of the most notorious public research universities in Michigan.
One thing in which I brag about the most when I tell my friends about my school is that fact that not only does it have a clean and beautiful campus, but Wayne State University has a Medical School that has been around since the year 1868! In my opinion, that is amazing, I want to learn from a school that has been there since basic medical concepts were still being discovered. It's like taking advice from someone that's been alive for more than 100 years!
Not Sure
Wayne State University campus is the ideal size for someone who wants a to attend a university that is not so large, that one will get lost and just become another student. However it is not so small to the point where you begin to feel cramped. Nonetheless, Wayne State University campus size is just right. At Wayne State you are bound to run into someone you know around every corner, however you are also bound to meet a ton of new and diverse people.
Wayne State University is one of the best learning experiences one can ask for. Wayne State University provides a real life learning experience unlike any others. Because Wayne State is located in an urban city with a rich history, it has alot of extracurricular activites that can be a great learning experience. Likewise Wayne State University has a beautiful campus located in mid-town detroit, which is surrounded by an art museum, a history museum, and a host of businesses unique to detroit such as the Karmonos eye Institues which can, and sometimes is utalized as a source for learning.
Wayne State has an annual concert that it puts on every year. The annual mad anthony concert is a great concert with artists selected by the students perform. Likewise many celebrities and politicians are invited to the campus to speak and interact through Q & A sessions with students.
Because it's close enough to go home every couple weekends and kinda affordable
There are many places to get your work done here at WSU. There is the Undergraduate Library, known as the UGL, that is open 24/7. There are multiple floors of which to study on. There is also your dorm building if you are staying on campus. Each floor has 3 lounges in which you can study. You can also, if you wish, study in your room. We have a Starbucks, which is also part of Einstein Bagels, where many people go to grab a cup of Joe and study. The quietest place of them all is the Purdy-Kresky Library. It is so because nobody really goes in it. It is a very empty place, but yet the best place to go for a quiet area. I tend to study in the lounges of my dorm floor.
Weekends at WSU are very quiet. Most students who live on campus go home. I however, go home once a month. So what do I do on the weekends you might ask. It is a great time to sleep in, since the cafeteria doesn't open until 10am. It also is an excellent time to get some studying accomplished. I used to go with a group of people on Sunday evening to a restaurant in some part of Detroit, that is until it got cold and dark really quick. There are also football games, volleyball games, etc. to go to on the weekends.
My school is right in Mid-town, Detroit and is mostly for medical, business, and law students. It is known for its great diversity and sorta dangerous area when you step off campus. Overall, a good school and cool that its 2 miles from downtown
